As some of you may know, a group of trans-exclusionary radical feminists are protesting against the Welsh Government’s LGBTQ Action Plan tomorrow at 12pm outside the Senedd.
In response, some members of the trans community and allies have planned a counter-protest to drown out the transphobic speeches and chants.
Although we stand in full support of the counter-protest, we would like to emphasise to all going that the T*RF gathering will include the most obsessive in the country, who have doxxed, stalked and harassed people in our community.
Just this week, we have been made aware of a trans person in Wales who has lost their job after their workplace received over 200 complaints from transphobic groups. Their commitment to destroying the trans community should not be underestimated.
We do not write this to discourage you or scare you, but to ensure that everyone understands the potential risks of being identified by the transphobic people who will be attending the protest tomorrow. It’s very important that you stay anonymous.
With that in mind, we’d like to offer some advice to those who are planning to attend the counter protest tomorrow.
1. Wear non-identifiable clothing, a hat and a mask that hides your face. Cover up tattoos and piercings if possible. Anything that could be used to identify you, including shoes, should be carefully considered.
2. Avoid shouting each other’s names at the protest, and where possible do not engage directly with individual people involved in the transphobic protest.
3. Ensure that you leave the protest with a group, and, if possible, by taxi. If you need money to get a taxi, please get in touch with us.
4. Play Disney music loudly at all times, particularly if you are being filmed. Disney is known for quickly taking videos using its music down from social media, which will limit the reach of any videos that the transphobic groups take.
5. Do not speak to the police in attendance at any time. If there is a problem, speak to the protest organisers. Make sure that you have the number of an appropriate solicitor to hand. Further advice on safely protesting here:
6. Ensure that a friend who is not at the protest knows that you are going, and arrange to have a check-in with them after the protest ends.
Please be safe, everyone. Love and solidarity always. See you on the streets.

Folks, we owe you an apology. For a long time now, we’ve been doing too much. We’re all stressed and burnt out, and that’s not sustainable. We also recognise that we’ve
been over-reaching and attempting to do things we aren’t ready for.
