Are you ready for a bit of the old ultra violence?
As I did with RE8, I will be avoiding any major spoilers or later environmental stuff. The game just came out and people should have time to experience it on their own.
Might post funny kills I get tho
Enjoying it a lot. I am questioning the decision to make "Page Up" the drop weapon key. Anyone know how to change it? Doesn't seem to be in keymapping lol
The thing I was not expecting was that this is more a puzzle game than a straight shooter. The clues you find help you determine when and how you can bypass the difficult obstacles for the perfect kill. Very fascinating. A murder-fueled jigsaw puzzle.
I was a little worried from the trailers that the game wouldn’t include notes/audio logs/eavesdropping like the other Arkane games, and I’m very glad to be wrong there. Lots of detail to read/listen to throughout the island.
I've killed everyone in this area by drawing them into my turret murder den muahahaha. Prey wasn't the only game with turrets.
Cranial explosions
I’m staying up playing way too much of this game. Dishonored Blink with a shotgun is glorious.
My biggest complaint so far is that Julianna’s AI version doesn’t have enough health to get the back/forth I want. I’ll turn on player invasions at some point but I wanted to get a feel of her AI version. At the moment she pretty much gets eaten up after a few good shots.
Here’s hoping we maybe get a hard mode in the future and I can get my arse kicked by her proper.
Oh god the Field Nullifiers disable your ability to resurrect. That's *dirty.*
I am now Spy
lmaaaaaao
So the reprise slab is basically the Dead Ringer and the Aether slab has an upgrade that makes it not consume charge when you stand still, making it like the Cloak and Dagger.
“This is giving me real boss baby vibes”
So, one of the downsides of not being able to exit/load during a mission is when a particle effect fills your entire screen up with blackness and you're now stuck not being able to see anything lmao
I fixed it. Changing the resolution seemed to reboot the visuals. Phew!
Deathloop somehow knows one of my favorite things in video games are amusement park rides. Fighting people inside a laser tag maze? I am living.
"Dillon you can't just say every ability in Deathloop is like Spy"
Deathloop:
lol I'm trying to coordinate with David to invade his game but it no work
I managed to get the invade countdown to happen but nothing happened when it hit 0 😞
Okay so I understand how this game's difficulty works. It's dynamic. The more visionaries you kill, the harder the game gets. The game is very easy when only 1-2 are dead. Once you hit 4-5+, enemies start tossing grenades, the Julianna uses all her powers and it gets tougher.
When the loop stress is low, I felt it was too easy to run in and murder everyone. Now that I’ve gotten 4 of the visionaries down, it’s a lot meaner. The difficulty certainly goes up a lot.
Does anyone know how the Wenjie depressurization system works? I got the new code, inputted it, pulled the lever but nothing happened. Is there another part?
PSA: You can activate buttons by shooting them. Especially handy with the nail gun/silenced weapons for the Silent Disco achievement.
Nexus continues to be a top tier slab.
I found it - the most busted combo: Aether slab with no power consumption on standing still + no break on damage and a rapier with explosive damage. lol

One of the New Blood QA members and I just spent like 5 straight hours fixing one of the most cursed bugs of our careers.
All started with this message about how nothing was being interacted with in the lighthouse area.
Restarting or reinstalling doesn't help. I request their save file. A quick glance doesn't reveal anything weird, but sure enough - loading the save file and interactive objects don't work. In fact - *anything* requiring a physics raycast doesn't work: weapons, mantling, ect.
I check in editor, and the raycast is being fired, the colliders are active and enabled and the masks look correct.
I know some people are mad at me for expecting something not pvp, but the original Marathon games were awesome and I totally would have bought a SP reboot. Especially in a post Doom-reboot era.
The 'Fire at the Gates' update is now live, and we have a big post about what it adds and what is coming in the summer Market update! (The merchant's shop, bat-beast barbers and a whole new area!) store.steampowered.com/news/app/11507…
I am begging for designers to pick up a copy of ‘The Design of Everyday Things’ and understand why turning everything into a touch screen is a terrible idea.
One of the most important ways humans interact with objects is through physical touch. Touchscreens have no kinesthetic property, so they offer a dynamic display space but come with a lack of distinct physical features.
This makes using it without looking at it much harder.
You don’t want to have to swipe through shit and misclick screen prompts while you’re trying to watch the road. It’s why we tell people not to text and drive.
(I know the handcannon is very easy to unlock in Mercenaries now, but I started doing a no-bonus-weapons run before that dropped and didn't feel like I needed them)
A (shorter but still way too long) thread on my last thoughts on Elden Ring (until I do another playthrough or such but that won't be for a while):
The world of Elden Ring contains some of the most captivating, most whimsical areas I've seen in games. The sheer scale of it - while remaining full of tightly handcrafted cities and zones - is staggering. It will define open world for years to come.
The additional of a jump propelled these zones to more playable verticality that rivals (and even exceeds at times) than the series' prior champion, Sekiro - y'know, the game with a grappling hook lol
