One of the New Blood QA members and I just spent like 5 straight hours fixing one of the most cursed bugs of our careers.

All started with this message about how nothing was being interacted with in the lighthouse area. Image Restarting or reinstalling doesn't help. I request their save file. A quick glance doesn't reveal anything weird, but sure enough - loading the save file and interactive objects don't work. In fact - *anything* requiring a physics raycast doesn't work: weapons, mantling, ect.

lmao goddammit it’s ‘Escape from Marathon’ Image I know some people are mad at me for expecting something not pvp, but the original Marathon games were awesome and I totally would have bought a SP reboot. Especially in a post Doom-reboot era.

Alas, wasn’t meant to be.

The 'Fire at the Gates' update is now live, and we have a big post about what it adds and what is coming in the summer Market update! (The merchant's shop, bat-beast barbers and a whole new area!)

I am begging for designers to pick up a copy of ‘The Design of Everyday Things’ and understand why turning everything into a touch screen is a terrible idea. Image One of the most important ways humans interact with objects is through physical touch. Touchscreens have no kinesthetic property, so they offer a dynamic display space but come with a lack of distinct physical features.

This makes using it without looking at it much harder.

Got my cat ears and handcannon 😌 ImageImage (I know the handcannon is very easy to unlock in Mercenaries now, but I started doing a no-bonus-weapons run before that dropped and didn't feel like I needed them)

A (shorter but still way too long) thread on my last thoughts on Elden Ring (until I do another playthrough or such but that won't be for a while): Image The world of Elden Ring contains some of the most captivating, most whimsical areas I've seen in games. The sheer scale of it - while remaining full of tightly handcrafted cities and zones - is staggering. It will define open world for years to come. Image

I invaded @DUSKdev's game and we both had the same idea to try and carry a turret at the same time lmfao @DUSKdev The way we both threw the cases down immediately in panic is just amazing.

This, but throwing in Dishonored 2/DotO because Karnaca is in some ways even more impressive than Dunwall. It’s a city that survived the Empire’s whale fuel crisis due to the wind power from Shindaerey Peak, and that has changed the tech, labor and wealth in the Southern Isles. Like you get this really fascinating look into a city that is booming during an economic downturn of the Empire, and that “gold rush” came with a lot of issues of its own - whole districts buried in dust and destroyed to make room for more windmills.

Are you ready for a bit of the old ultra violence? Image As I did with RE8, I will be avoiding any major spoilers or later environmental stuff. The game just came out and people should have time to experience it on their own.

Might post funny kills I get tho

Dark Forces and Dark Forces II are my favorite Star Wars games and still definitely worth a play. The last time I played this I used the DarkXL engine to play it - which does allow you to play at modern resolutions and refresh rates. Unfortunately, it looks like the site hosting DarkXL is gone.

I'll dig and maybe I'll put up another host. You can play it via dosbox, too.

Since a few people asking - I recommend Shadow of Chernobyl first with Zone Reclamation Project for bug fixes. If you bounce off that, check out Call of Pripyat. If you like SoC - go through the series via release order (SoC/CS/CoP).

I’d avoid mods like Anomaly or Misery. That’s not a criticism towards mods; I love Anomaly and it’s one of the main ways I enjoy the game now. That said, it’s very much built for people who have already played a lot of stalker, and it can be immensely overwhelming for newcomers because of that.
