Ship B PSOs coordinate with the captain to turn away from the turtle (which they never see themselves in the rough seas!) and maintain at least 270m from its last known position.

While Ship B probably would have not struck the turtle anyways (the ocean is big) sighting sharing reduced the risk much further.
It’s 2021. Why aren’t we *all* using the most modern technology to protect animals?

We find instant sharing helps PSOs divert other boats ~2 times each month on wind farm projects in the Atlantic.
In many cases the PSOs on the diverted boat never even see the animal they are diverting for.
