💉Millions of vulnerable people in the UK will now be offered a Covid-19 booster jab.

People could receive the coronavirus and flu vaccine on the same day as the Government presses ahead with a mass vaccination rollout.

❓Who will be offered a booster first?

Similarly to the original vaccine campaign, those in the first cohort of the JCVI’s priority list will be offered a booster first.

This includes those living in residential care homes for older adults and staff working in those homes

❓How quickly will the boosters be rolled out?

💉Professor Jonathan Van-Tam, England’s deputy chief medical officer, said boosters could start being administered within days.

❓What role will pharmacies play in the roll-out?

🩹Pharmacies are expected to take a more central role in the booster programme.

📈There are around 2,000 onboard across the country ready to administer jabs as soon as supplies arrive

🗣️Andrew Lane, chairman of the National Pharmacy Association, said using pharmacies will allow GPs to "focus on clearing the care backlog in the NHS"

❓Can I still get the flu jab?

The JCVI has deemed it safe to receive both the coronavirus and flu virus at the same time

People will be able to get both vaccines on the same day, preferably with one shot in each arm.
