Where to begin with @natehiggins? We belong to the same local party (yay @NewhamGreens) and for 2 months he's been mine & @Amelia_Womack's campaign manager. In this 1st tweet I'll just thank him for his endorsement which I agree with 100%. But to do Nate justice I need a thread
Nate has been supporting us tirelessly whilst co-chairing @NewhamGreens (alongside the eminently brilliant @Dannny_K), being a candidate in our target ward and working full time. He lives, breathes and loves the Green Party and his commitment is bold and inspiring.
Whilst having all these important roles, he never lets it go to his head. His presence in our campaign and in @NewhamGreens is one of service. He does the jobs that need doing whilst always creating space for others to come in & take their part.
He is kind - and his kindness is both personal and political - showing up as a commitment to an intersectional politics that includes the marginalised and oppressed. I can't tell you how supported I have felt because of gentle words, or reminders to rest, that Nate has given.
This is already long, so I'll end here - that Nate is a credit to @TheGreenParty and that we can all be proud to belong in a party that inspires people like him to work so hard for it. If you ever doubt the goodness of what we're doing, look to the beauty of those alongside you.
Oh yes - I almost forgot... So - do what Nate does and support @Amelia_Womack and I as your co-leaders - #votewomackomond for first preference today.

Our campaign team suggested I write a thread about work I've done on climate. Honestly, where to begin? Since leaving university in 2007 I've been at the forefront of the environmental movement, leading groups that have transformed the national debate. First up @planestupid -1/16
Following the Commons action which made Heathrow Airport's third runway front page news for the first time, I worked alongside anti-aviation leader @HACAN1 in the @StopHeathrowExp coalition. I organised West London communities to oppose the airport and this huge protest - 2/16
There were so many more moments in those early days of the campaign against Heathrow's expansion (and all the organising that I led as part of that campaign) but - this thread could be a book and that's not what twitter is for so, let's move on to @ClimateRush - 3/16
It's difficult to do electioneering when the big picture media narrative right now is so miserably transphobic. It's hard not to just want to be organising and supporting in the trans rights space. But - it is the final days of the @TheGreenParty leadership campaign and we (1/4)
do have a historic opportunity to elect a trans inclusive leadership team. I can't stress enough how valuable that would be to making our Party safe from transphobia and also bringing a trans voice to the centre of national political and media debate. I can't represent (2/4)
the brilliant diversity of trans experience but - because these are my rights that are under attack - I know that I will prioritise advocating for trans people more than any other leadership candidate. I'm reading tweets from strong left-wing commentators like @OwenJones84 (3/4)
