Today, gun regs can help curb gun violence w/out necessarily leading to greater prosecution of Black ppl. And racially discriminatory enforcement of gun regulations against Black ppl is a clear violation of the 14th Amend. 3/4
That Black ppl must acquiesce to the proliferation of guns or consent to overpolicing & discrimination prosecution is not a bargain we should ever strike—and why we at @NAACP_LDF continue to challenge racially discriminatory enforcement of all criminal laws, incl’g gun regs. 4/4
