Imma address this now and be done with it. Let me tell yall a story about a group of boys who were raised in a homogeneous society, were barely taught anything about black culture aside from music and idolized a hip hop culture without truly understanding some of its aspects +
They were one day jamming to a song (a rap song) which had the n word in it a lot of times like multiple times and these boys who at the time were ignorant of the context and breadth of this word just sang along to the lyrics of this song not understanding that they should not+
Have. And they were on camera just jamming to the song. Well as expected people called them out, some more aggressively and harshly then others and people explained to them the connotations of the word and from then on these boys went on. Did their research and have learned and +
From that mistake. They've continued to push for cultural education and have adapted an attitude of always trying to understand and educate themselves about others people's cultures and music genres before attempting those genre in order to show respect and acceptance to all +
These boys have gone on to change lyrics of their own songs to avoid making others uncomfortable, advocated against racial discrimination, and when they travel to other countries they make sure to find out about the culture there so they may be as respectful as possible. +
Ladies and gentlemen that is called growth! As Black army who's been here since pre-debut I'm proud and I've been proud of these boys. They apologized, learned from it and grew. And to this day people always bring this incident up whenever they wanna slander the boys. So to baby+
Baby army who dont know or to those of you who dont know about this incident im here to tell you the truth and the factual way that this supposed "racist" thing that these boys did that they love to put on namjoon only because he's the leader. Just so you know Korea does +
Have their own version of the N word that has its own connotations and concept (I'm not gonna get into it today) but it's basically based on ignorance. Also again I keep having to explain that korea is its own country with its own history and social concepts and systems +
And also the fact that you can't expect people to know everything as soon as they start out in life. And these idiots refuse to acknowledge that the reason they keep on bringing up something (an isolated incident I may add) That happened in 2013, like 8 years ago is because +
They have no other way to get at the boys because they have no leg to stand on to hate them or berate them. So they keep picking at old wounds that have scabbed over hoping to pull out blood and we should not give them that luxury. These boys never shied away from their mistakes+
They took responsibility and gre from them, all of them, unlike other groups whove done worse and have been way more offensive on multiple occasions and never apologized, and kept making the same mistakes over and over again and kept getting a pass. I'm not gonna mention names +
Because I'm not looking to start a fandom war but some of these groups are famous and prominent. Groups doing things like blackface, saying the n word and more. So yeah don't let haters fool you, they are all hypocrites. Here's the clip they use
Make your own judgement from it. I can only speak from my pov as a black girl living in america and as someone who's been a fan of the korean music scene since 2008 and who's seen it all. These people are huge hypocrites. I can talk about multiple misogynistic and racist +
Incidents that have been covered up and where fans were supporting the artists even when they didn't make an effort to learn or change. I'm just saying don't let these fakers fool you. I don't need another D-2 Incident on my hands again.
Ps: a quick look at korean history also can explain why they are such an homogenous and had closed off themselves to the outside world for so long. Yall claim to like korean artists and korean culture but you don't make the effort to understand those things and expect the world+
To bed to your whims and to fit within the small box that is your minds and scope of understanding. That's absolutely foolish
Actions speak louder than words. This is 5 years after the "video", and 3-4 years after they came to America to learn more about the culture that fuels the music they make. And later they've spoken about learning more about other genres of music and cultures before approaching +
Or using those in their music or videos. A great example us the amount of research that went into making IDOL and the very respectful and beautiful ways in which they incorporated many different African trademarks and influences in their own koreanness. To give a message of love

See if I start talking about the amount of misogynistic and delusional lyrics in the kpop world written by others and the kind of mess that these people be generally without receiving backlash or Apologizing we'd be here all day but they wanna go after someone+
Who's entire career has been about improving himself and those around him and who's always double checking himself making sure to not hurt others and is always trying to support and promote equality and progress and self development with everything he does and writes because +
He dared to actually take responsibility and own up to his mistakes? Isn't that what we want people to do? Learn and grow? Others given the opportunity don't even try but you wanna sh*t on someone who's making and effort and doing it correctly? I don't get it! Do people get+

For baby army or those who don't understand why we are so adamant about fansite pictures or fansite in general let me explain the logic to you. These fansites are dangerous for multiple reasons.
# 1) they jeopardize the boys safety! (BTS are beautiful souls but that doesn't +
Mean there arent people out there who mean them harm, sassengs are not mythical creatures, they are real people who get a fixation and that fixation can turn dangerous and even deadly sometimes. People are fickle in nature and these sites are quite adept at revealing+
Information they have no business revealing and that in itself is dangerous! Some of these websites goes to great length to obtain these pictures. I will leave it at that for now but think about the amount of death threats that these boys received that we know and do the math) +

#ARMYREALTEA today i am starting my segment on ARMY real tea. A derivation of #ARMYREALTALK because I feel like this is needed lately due to increased activity from idiots on the internet who enjoy trivializing ARMY concerns and BTS achievements but also for people+
Who seem not know what's really going on (clueless BTS fans, Baby ARMY, and outliers). On episode 1 of #ARMYREALTEA I will be addressing something that people may have heard of, witnessed but decided to ignore because its BTS, or because they don't really get the dynamics going +
On or because they think us fans are exaggerating and reading into everything and trying to victimize BTS for a variety of reasons. I wanna start by saying this, today. The entertainment industry in any country is not to be romanticized like people do. For people seem to +

Its the reality of our boys though. I remember back in 2016 when the Busan one festival incident happened how angry I felt. And later on when I found out that the boys were still not being given proper waiting rooms during some music shows they were changing and +
Practicing and doing make up in hallways, in front of the bathrooms. Guys this wasn't too long ago. This was during the WINGS era when they were getting daesangs. Other rookie groups who were younger than them and other idol groups were out here passing them by in the hallways+
And looking down on them. I cannot make this up. When hosts met them they would act like they didn't know them. Even after winning their 2017 billboard awards the disrespect was real. And they still right now are not stopping. Another reason why they wouldn't wanna have+
