All ISLM Nations are cumulatively one-fourth of the World’s Population, and yet produced 59% of Worldwide Refugees!
The magnitude of world refugees, dramatic stats, larger root cause, a perspective & India's biggest challenge from a particular ethnic group!
Read on.. 1/
As per UNHCR data, the world host 24.8mn refugees, & out of which a whopping 59% (14.7mn) are originated from ISLM nations, despite these nations are just 23% of the world’s total population.
2/
‘Refugee’, implied it concerns the int’nal borders but not the one forced to ‘displaced’ within a country, nither infiltration. If we look at the overall forced displacement number worldwide is, much larger, 82mn (P1). Spend 30 sec on numbers on P3.
3/
For ease of realization, follow this analogy- Bhopal’s population is 2.5mn & M.P.’ is 87mn.). So we are here talking about the displacement of ENTIRE M.P. and 10 cities like Bhopal are refugees in the world. Each resident, TEN CITIES.
4/
Responsibility for forced displacement due to regional conflicts or other reasons still lies with the state (remember Kashmiri Pundits' exodus). However, when communities decide to flee out of the country, the challenge becomes entirely different. 5/
For that matter, worldwide, 39% of refugees are only from TWO countries– Syria & Afghanistan. The world knows their history, power conflicts, flavored with ISLM extremism (ISIS & Taliban/Haqqani resp.), further messed up by US foreign & military oily policies. 6/
Out of this 14.7mn orig from ISLM nations, approx. 68% (10mn ~4xBhopal) moved to another ISLM, while 32% (4.7mn) chose NON-ISLM nations. 50% of these 10mn, (ISLM to ISLM nation), granted asylum only by Turkey & Pakistan, surprisingly, NOT by the more resourceful Arab World.
7/
In other words, a significant 0.85% of Total ISLM nations’ population moved to another country, while a similar number is just 0.17% for NON-ISLM countries.
Now take a look at how the USA exploited post 9/11 that led to irreparable damage to global refugees' mess. 8/
As per WION report, the USA invasion & military actions caused 38mn displaced from their natives (~ eq. to entire Telangana) & 335K lives. While civilians toll were 2071/year by k!lled TaIiban, US airstrikes claimed 1134 lives per year between 2017-19. 9/
Now consider NON-ISLM nations refugees i.e. 9.8mn, 22% (2.1mn) settled in ISLM nations, rest (78%) preferred NON-ISLM only. Interestingly these 2.1mn have 1mn outflux only from Myanmar that settled in Bangladesh & Malaysia. (will come back on this again)
10/
Largest NON-ISLM nation refuge crisis- South Sudan, with 4.1mn ppl displaced, 2.1mn hosted by Uganda-Ethiopia-Kenya-Sudan.
Note - While Syria & Afghan crisis is a product of religious extremism (fulled by West), Sudanese civil war for power struggle & Oil revenues. 11/
India's stroy! Moving ahead to the most crucial part- ROHINGYA, note that India is not a signatory of The Refugee Convention, 1951 nor 1967 Refugee Protocol that obliges India to recognize refugee status, yet India has done its job well!
Tbc.. 12/
India hosts 2.28L refugees from 45 countries, (24 ISLM nations).
Big Pies-
Sri Lanka (41%);
China (read Tibetans) (33%);
Myanmar + Stateless (17%); {mostly Rohingyas}
Afghans (7%)
Note that this is not an ACTUAL presence but just reg numbers. 13/
Trigger events- 1. State-LTTE civil war pushed SL Tamilians 2. Chinese persecuted Tibetans 3. MMR-Bl'Desh-Rakhine conflict resulted in rising Rohingyas, sp. in last 5 years 4. Soviet/US/Taliban war crisis for Afghans
Spend a min time on the footnote, trend & timings- 14/
Q. Why India is treating the Rohingyas (RO) crisis differently than Tibetans or Lankans?
A. Because it may be different.
Let's take a deep dive.
Home of RO- Rakhine, bordering ~95% to MMR, ~5% B'Desh, are considered as most persecuted minorities in the world by the UN. 15/
The history of Rakhine MusI!m get connects to, yet again, the desire of ISLM nation, only to be exploited by colonizer Brits who promised them ISLM state in return to fight for them in WW2 in Burma against Rakhine Buddhists, who were then allied with the Japanese.
16/
However, post MMR independence (1948), the Buddhist dominant nation denied citizenship to the ROs M, & Brits left another region of conflict forever. Once an enemy ally, MMR has always considered RO as ‘Bengali’ (from B'Desh)/illegal migrants/intruders, anything but citizen. 17/
And then begun the history of resistance, politics & bl00dbath in the entire region, from 1950s to date.
Take a walkthrough of the below timelines, resistance to violance, the critical events as they happened, collected from various sources.
18/
With MMR & B'Desh both rejecting the RO, since 70s to date, they have spread across the world seeking asylums, mostly to ISLM states (B'desh, Pak), but being a neighboring country India couldn’t be spared with this refuges/infiltration/illegal migrants crisis. 19/
In recent years, RO militants ARSA has taken the front stage. Besides carrying out the Hindu mas$acre in 2017, they have targeted high profiles MMR cop/army.
ARSA is led by Saudi-raised-Pak-born RO M Atta Ullah, son of a RO migrant, who studied at Madarsa in Mecca.

ARSA, as per many intelligence reports, is now being supported by other 'Jlhad!st' groups like Lash-kar-e-Ta!ba and Pak!stan intel agency ISI. In July 2020, Myanmar's Commander-in-Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing claimed that "strong forces" (indicating towards China) 21/
are supporting terr0r!st groups. Another RO miIitant group Aqa Mul Mujahideen is allegedly linked with LeT & JeM cell in J&K. Some reports suggested that Jamaat-ud Dawa targeting vulnerable RO M & providing them training crossborder. AI-Qaeda's offshoot Ansar Gazawat-ul-Hind 22/
in J&K expressed solidarity to RO living in Jammu & 'warned' Modi govt against deporting.
Indian agencies have enough reason to deny access to RO. The stand became more clear in 2017 when SC sought the govt view on RO during a plea filed by usual suspects like
23/
K Sibal & P Bhushan to prevent deporting. MHA in response drew clear lines citing several national security concerns, affirming further that govt is under constitutional obligation to deport any illegal immigrants, & therefore it is performing duty.
24/
SC was satisfied with the response & denied interfering with MHA functions. The decision was welcomed by the HM Rajnath Singh who said that the RO issue shouldn't be seen through 'the prism of human rights' but as a serious security concern. 25/
Thr has been unarguably a violent history of persecutions of RO & so with KPs & Tibetans, who are still fighting for justice by means which are accepted in any civil society.
USA to GER or Russ to Aus, every nation keeps nat'al interest at prime before handling migrants.
26/
Arab,USA prefers to grant aids thru UNHCR but have own policies for accepting/denying migrants.
IND is no exception. It is mindful about resources, opportunities, ethnic & cultural harmony, & therefore must take appropriate action, deemed fit in the national interest.
27/
Note- ppl are wondering about "Bangladeshi"!
As far as official B'desh refugees in IND is concern, it's 8, absolute, no unit. While many estimation suggest actual illegal migrant may be as huge as 20mn. Enters via WB & travel even upto Ladakh.
This is very serious threat. UNHCR is granting refugee status to illegal Bangladeshi in India 'treating' them as Rohingya, through 'backdoor' marriage clause which is NOT transparently shared with Home Ministry. A report by @PankajSinghUN

Imagine, if 2002 Guj riots, Teesta Setalvad, Hilary Clinton, and Narayan Murthy come in the same story!
This EXCLUSIVE thread will throw light on some lesser-known facts, that include an (in)famous international NGO & biggies!
1/
Let's begin with the post-independence era when the world's top intel agencies wanted to sneak into every country, where NGOs were proven as the best proxy tool to penetrate during cold world war times. From ideological warfare to covert ops, NGOs were leading from the front.
2/
Similarly, the CIA established the Ford Foundation (FF) for whom the first PM Jawahar Lal Nehru laid the red carpet in 1952. This was a modern-day invasion at the invitation.
Canadian police has raided one of largest drug lab in the history. Arrested drug-lord Gaganpreet Randhawa. It is widely known that Khalistani activities are being financed by narco-arms cartels in Canada.
You'll be shocked to learn the magnitude..

From sophisticated drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with cocaine and cannabis are seized.
Read the amount of drugs and cache of weapon here 👇🏼
2/
The facility is considered as "superlab" which processes billions of worth of illegal drugs in collaboration with Maxico and Middle East drugs cartel. Obviously exporting/smuggling massive amounts of supplies.
