/ The government’s appalling handling of Covid...

The government has stuffed up their response to the Coronavirus pandemic with a set of coercive policies that were either badly managed or dreadfully communicated. This has led to total confusion and fear.
/ They willfully attempted to ramp up fear levels by using doomsday scenario SAGE projections that never came to fruition and applied flawed methodology to create a fanciful worst case scenario that was presented as a real possibility - which was then parroted by the media.
/ The question is: what were the government hoping to achieve? Did they think everyone would simply look at the charts and freak out? Or did they assume we’re all so terrified already we’d just blindly take those charts at face value?
/ The government have wilfully mismanaged virtually every aspect of the pandemic. This has caused widespread confusion and panic. We have the worst government at exactly the worst time….combined with the worst opposition and worst media at exactly the worst time.
/ The government have created, overseen and amplified a shambles on the Coronavirus crisis for 18 months.
/ Allowing infected patients from hospitals back to care homes without testing (at the start of the pandemic) to inadvertently spread the virus round a vulnerable cohort.
/ Cancelling exams that could have been held in Covid-secure halls and then overseeing a shambles on A-level results.
/ Failing to get children back into school in June 2020, and then shutting the schools again in 2021. 500,000 additional children now suffer from mental health problems.
/ Failing to develop a functioning test / track/ trace system - for an entire year. And then spending £37 billion on a test and trace system that should have been spent instead on protecting the NHS - through staffing, ICU facilities and reducing record waiting lists.
/ Failure to effectively roll out the Nightingale hospitals and the NHS volunteers programme - despite 700,000 people signing up.
/ Total mismanagement over the PPE procurement programme.
/ Negligently allowing the UK to become one of the only countries in the world not to have a test and quarantine programme at airports - for an entire year.
/ A total lack of a consistent and coherent strategy with inconsistent and unworkable rules such as the rule of six and the 10pm pub curfew.
/ Creating a wider health crisis with reports of empty hospitals, GP surgeries and delayed treatments and operations for non-Covid patients. Over 500 excess home deaths a week (on average) since March 2020.
/ Forgetting 3 million self employed and freelance workers - who have gone without any sustainable income or government support for 18 months.
/ The UK saw its worst ever economic collapse - with a drop of -20% GDP in April 2020, and a yearly GDP drop twice as bad as the 2009 financial crisis.
/ Having previously ruled out vaccine passports as “unethical” and “liberal”, the UK government have coercively nudged the entire population to take the vaccine to guarantee social freedoms at the expense of medical autonomy.
/ 12-15 year old children are now having the vaccine despite no clear recommendation from the vaccine authority to do so.
/ When schools can’t administer hay fever medication or sun screen without parental consent and don’t allow kids to play with conkers or snow, but can administer a jab on school premises without parental or vaccine authority consent, you know something has gone horribly wrong.
/ Non Covid health treatment waiting lists are now at record levels of 12 million people. The public is being told to protect the NHS despite not being properly protected themselves.
/ £320 million of taxpayers money has been issued by the government on media advertising in 2021. No wonder our complicit media don’t scrutinise and hold the government to account. The media won’t bite the hand that feeds them.
/ The UK government’s only consistent Covid strategy seems to be: deny everything, acknowledge nothing, blame everyone else but themselves, move the goalposts, over promise and under deliver.
/ Watching a weak, incompetent, bizarrely unaccountable government repeatedly mismanage and coercively manipulate the public really wakes you up to the powerlessness of the individual in times of trouble.

Since the start of the pandemic, the UK government have broken promises, repeatedly U-turned and coerced the country with a series of mixed messages and lies.

Fascism arrives when society is asleep at the wheel. It tricks people into giving them the illusion of security. It identifies enemies. It appeals to the in-group (usually the majority). It smashes freedom and replaces it with control. We fall asleep at the wheel at our peril.

“A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude.”

~ Aldous Huxley
