Recently @ElvishYadav tweeted on #FreeTemples movement and @ReallySwara came crying with illogical shi!t.

Yes, it is true that government doesn’t tax the temples directly under GST, neither it was mentioned anywhere in the tweet but.. 1/9

In Tamil Nadu, the HR&CE board which look over temples don’t even have funds to perform pujas in 12,000 temples. Then where does that all crores of money gone? 5/9

Moreover in Tamil Nadu, under HR&CE 1200 ancient idols worth crores of rupees have been smuggled to various countries in 25 years. Is this how they are taking care of the temples? 6/9

Not only smuggling, governments some times openly pressure the temples to provide funds. In 2020, Andhra Pradesh government raised annual contribution of Tirupati from 2.5 cr to 50cr, whopping 50 times more contribution. 8/9
