#birdsplaining - Episode 01: Gems & Transferability
[diving into the depths of #kanaria birds and #RMRK2]

birds have gem slots. these are equipable like the 7 other slots for "normal" items. the gems are a bit different as they use the option of non-transferability. normal NFTs on RMRK2 are transferable, they can be transfered to another account OR -this is special- another NFT.

a non transferable NFT can't be moved. neither to another account nor to another NFT. It stays where it is. And if it is owned by a NFT - like the gems are owned by a bird - they stay there. Even if the bird, as parent, is moved to another account or another NFT.

gems are forever attached to their birds. they can be equiped - part of the birds outfit, or unequiped. Some gems or other items will only have power if equiped.

non-transferable NFTs can be destroyed though. in the future burning some gems in a contract will be "using" them.

let's get technical. RMRK2 NFTs can have four different modi of transferability:
- transferable ("normal" NFTs)
- non-transferable (badges, PoAs, child-NFTs fixed to their parents)
- transferable from block on (vested/cliffed NFTs [!])
- transferable until block (timed effects)

how can you transfer non-transferable items in it's place? to it's parent NFT or it's owner?!?!

-> by MINTing directly into other accounts or into NFTs
so yes, instead of minting and sending NFTs, with RMRK2 you can mint NFTs directly into their parents or other accounts!
