The push is on to re-elect the Mayor of Minneapolis as other candidates get pushed into the background.
Remind me, who is in charge of the Minneapolis Police Department?
How's that been working out?
startribune.com/paper-discount…
What did the Mayor of Minneapolis know about abusive policing in 2020?
In Falcon Heights, MN the City Council knew about racial profiling BEFORE Philando Castile was killed and they did nothing. One of them (a lawyer!!??) admitted it on the record (pg. 6).
falconheights.org/home/showdocum…
"She had known when she was on the council that there was a problem with racial profiling. She has the responsibility to ask questions and to get these answers, but she didn’t do it when she was on the council."
Huh?
Voters in Minneapolis and other cities shouldn't have to choose between having a police department and getting racial profiling out of policing. City council members, mayors and other politicians who know about racial profiling and do nothing must be exposed and held accountable.

Gov. @Tim_Walz needs to OPPOSE the PolyMet and Twin Metals sulfide mines, stop Line 3, fix corruption in the pollution control agency and election of Regents of the University, and get money OUT of Minnesota politics. Don't bet on the GOP to do any of it.
startribune.com/minnesota-poll…
Think corruption in the election of University of Minnesota Regents doesn't matter? Corruption, sky high salaries at the top, wasteful spending, and diminished state support for higher education have driven tuition from $522 in 1970 to over $15,000 today.

University Regents formed a PAC to help elect new Regents.
This is not an honest way to choose a University Board of Regents.

Driving while Black? Pulled over.
Napping while Black? Somebody calls the cops.
Voting while Black? Voter suppression laws discourage that.
Yet there's always the apologist for racism who says "race had nothing to do with it." Right.
forbes.com/sites/forbesth…
Members of Congress such as @tedcruz who refuse to support voting rights bills (of any kind) remind me of the delusional academic who blogged about being "Anti Anti-Racist".
Just drop the double negative.
A commentator insisted race has little to do with unjustified killings by police. The same guy then raised money on-line for someone who called the cops on a Black person for doing nothing wrong. Reminds me of @tedcruz talking about voting rights. We know what motivates this.

The president of the University of Minnesota makes around $800,000, over four times the governor's pay. Tuition in 1970: $522. In-state tuition in 2021 is over $15,000. We don't need a new university president. We need a new governor. This is corrupt.
ohe.state.mn.us/dPg.cfm?pageID…
Fifty years ago low cost public higher education was a reality. No longer. Tax cuts for the rich, reckless spending in higher education, excessive pay for presidents, provosts and coaches, obsession with "rankings", massive bureaucracy all add up. They play while students pay.
What exactly do the president, the provost and the football coach at the University of Minnesota do for all that money? Students and taxpayers in every other state should ask the same question. We've had enough. Public education needs to return to planet Earth.

Why is this blogger raising money for this plaintiff? This case against Yale makes little sense. The discussion of race issues in many of the plaintiff's Tweets also is disturbing to say the least. Why encourage this type of thing?
leiterreports.typepad.com/blog/2021/02/s…
This is wrong. It's one thing to disagree with journalists, but to attack them with race baiting comments like this is just wrong. And for a University of Chicago professor to promote this person as a "victim" in repeated blog posts is also wrong.

The same person Tweets over and over again -- and this man republishes on his blog -- about me and a "Hoax" in which law schools and the "Fake News Media" seek to destroy careers of members of the Federalist Society. Of course I'll respond. This is nuts.
leiterlawschool.typepad.com/leiter/2021/09…
I used to be a faculty advisor for the Federalist Society. I welcome ideas I don't always agree with. But ever since 2016 public discourse has become weird. "Hoax", "Fake News Media", conspiracies against White students persecuted by colleges, imaginary murder plots.
I call BS.
This same blogger says "many" (he won't say who) law professors believe racism wasn't involved in the killing of George Floyd and that law deans should be silent about racism and the killing of George Floyd. He called Nikole Hannah-Jones an "imbecile." This isn't civil discourse.

Let me get this straight. I am part of a conspiracy with a law school perpetrating a Hoax with the Fake News Press to do what? Destroy careers of @FedSoc members? OK.....
A University of Chicago professor whose other hobby is ranking law schools and poking fun at efforts to combat racism, for whatever reason keeps promoting this person in blog posts and on Twitter, repeating her conspiracy theories as she raises yet more money through GoFundMe.
Here we go. After Brian Leiter touts this person's GoFundMe page and her Tweets saying I, Yale Law School and NYU Law School have a "conspiracy" against the Federalist Society, he says I lack moral compass because I object? And Leiter "ranks" law schools?
