Welcome to Britain’s most expensive street, where a property costs more than 100 times the average UK house price.

London’s Kensington Palace Gardens is one of the most exclusive and pricey addresses in the world.

metro.co.uk/2021/10/05/lon…
The tree-lined avenue is gated and guarded at each end and is home to some of the wealthiest individuals on the planet.

Among its inhabitants are F1 heiress Tamara Ecclestone and Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich, as well as a string of embassies.
Kensington Palace Gardens is also the home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The average property on billionaire’s row costs a cool £29 million @Zoopla's 2021 rich list.

By comparison, the average house price in the UK currently stands at around £265,668.
According to @Zoopla, homes on 11,673 roads in Britain are now valued as being at least £1 million. Of these, 4,544 were in London with 4,336 in the South East.

To put that into context, just nine are in Wales, 41 in the North East, and 55 in Yorkshire and The Humber.
In at second is Courtenay Avenue, in Highgate, on the edge of leafy Hampstead Heath and just a stone’s throw from Kenwood House stately home.

Fancy pitching up there? The average house price here is a staggering £19,440,000.

That's 73x more expensive than the rest of the UK.
Grosvenor Crescent in Belgravia, a short stroll from Buckingham Palace, ranks third with an average price of £17,212,000.

Taking the title of heftiest house price outside of London is Titlarks Hill in Ascot, coming in at almost £8.5 m.
Five streets in the exclusive Surrey enclave of Virginia Water feature in the most expensive list outside of London, including Portnall Rise in third place – with an average property value of £6,408,000 – plus Woodlands Road East and Wentworth Drive.

‘I don’t no how much longer I can be expected to do this before I burn out.’

Matthew has worked in the NHS since he was 17.

For the first time in his career he is considering leaving the frontline as he ‘can no longer cope’ with the demands of the job.

While life has returned to normal for most of the British public, nurses have had ‘no freedom’ since restrictions were lifted on July 19.

The health worker had barely recovered from the first waves of the pandemic when he was moved onto a high dependency Covid unit in Wales.
Admissions there are at their highest since summer, with a worrying number of young and double jabbed people falling ill to the virus.

But there are not enough beds to manage the influx, and nowhere near enough staff to look after them. Image

'To those who still say corruption doesn’t happen here, I say wake up, before it gets even worse.'

@CarolineLucas writes for @MetroOpinion

When the issue of corruption is raised, most people in the UK would probably say things like that don’t really happen here.

After all, the UK is ‘the mother of parliaments’ and one of the world’s most established democracies. Our politics may be messy, but it is not corrupt. Image
This complacency is not only dangerous, it’s delusional.

It certainly should have been shattered by the revelations in the Pandora Papers, which give a glimpse into the world of tax dodging and money laundering by some of the world’s richest and most powerful people.

A Tory MP has spoken out about the struggles of living on an MP’s salary, calling it ‘desperately difficult’ for some.

Sir Peter Bottomley, the oldest MP in the Commons, has spoken out about his financial struggles.

He thinks MPs, who are paid £81,932, should be paid the same amount as GPs – whose average salary is £100,700.

The average salary across the UK was £31,461 as of last year.
Following calls for health workers to recieve a raise for their work over the pandemic, he told the New Statesman: ‘A general practitioner in politics ought to be paid roughly the same as a general practitioner in medicine.'

Ndakasi the mountain gorilla became known the world over for her adorable selfie with a park ranger in Congo.

Sadly, the beloved gorilla passed away aged 14 last week, dying in Andre’s arms after a prolonged illness which rapidly deteriorated.

The viral photo had people in stitches at the way Ndakasi mimics Mathieu Shamavu, who along with Andre Bauma, rescued her in 2007. Image
Andre found her clinging her mother's lifeless body after the militia wiped out her family while hunting for bushmeat.

At just 2-months-old, Ndakasi was taken to the Senkwekwe Center in Virunga National Park to live and be rehabilitated with fellow orphaned gorilla Ndeze. Image

Tell me this house is haunted without telling me this house is haunted... 👻

A rather pleasant house from the outside.

2 bathrooms, laundry room, an unsettling doll couple standing by some cracked walls.

This house for sale in Metairie, Louisiana, really does have it all.

If by ‘all’, you mean a setup that seems fated for nightmare-filled nights. Image
The property, on the market for $149,500, is listed on Zillow as ideal for ‘investors and flippers’.

Photos show bags of rubbish, stained walls, and grubby cupboards.

Just to liven things up a bit, there are two possibly-haunted dolls casually making their way around the home. Image

Players from Afghanistan’s girls’ football team have reportedly been granted visas to come to the UK.

Some 111 players, coaches and family members of the squad are set to be given the green light for a safe and permanent home away from the Taliban.

The group had been living in Pakistan on temporary visas since fleeing their homeland after the takeover – and faced being sent back once their asylum period ran out.

They have also been offered asylum in Portugal, and it is unclear which country they will end up in. Image
Campaigners have been calling for the girls to be given sanctuary in the UK, amid fears they would be persecuted by the new Afghan government and stopped from playing football.

Leeds United was among a number of organisations who urged the Government to grant the girls asylum. Image
