Already, Israel delayed a scheduled Oct. 6 hearing on the fate of 38 homes belonging to 220 Palestinians, a sign that public outrage is working to defend Palestinian homes.
This is a sign that our collective voices for Palestinian freedom have an impact.
The theft of Ein Hanya from Palestinians is part of Israeli greenwashing, a set of processes meant to make Israel’s settler colonial project seem environmentally friendly, while in reality dispossessing Palestinians from their native land & reinforcing segregationist policies.
Palestinians living in Al-Walaja have been faced with this displacement crisis since 1948 as part of the Israeli regime’s ongoing project to systematically dispossess, displace, & ethnically cleanse Palestinian communities.
On the heels of a powerful wave of solidarity with the Palestinian people’s Unity Intifada, we can build a powerful wave of outrage to #SaveAlWalaja & build justice for all of Palestine.
Share these resources, take action, & keep making noise for Palestine.
UPDATE: Israel is trying to bury home demolition cases impact 220+ Palestinians under media silence by pushing court dates to Halloween & Christmas time
U.S. Air Force member Aaron Bushnell self-immolated at the Israeli embassy in DC yesterday, sacrificing his life in an act of protest against the 38,000+ Palestinians killed in the U.S.-funded genocide in Gaza.
🧵THREAD
Aaron's decision to bear the unimaginable to raise awareness Gaza does not go unnoticed. We mourn and honor his memory.
We also honor the woman who self-immolated with a Palestinian flag at the Israeli consulate in Atlanta on Dec. 1, 2023. The media buried her story so deeply that we do not even know her name.
HAPPENING NOW: Hundreds of protesters are blocking 5 major roadways in DC & rallying at Union Station to end the genocide.
They’re stopping US gov't war criminals from getting to work. NO BUSINESS AS USUAL! SHUT IT DOWN!
This is 23rd & Constitution near the State Dept.
Power to local activists through @palyouthmvmt, @OFDC_Campaign, DMV @wearedissenters, @md2palestine, @harrietsdreams, @pslnational who are taking a stand today to demand:
Every US gov't war criminal coming to work today will have their commute disrupted. They are enabling Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza, including the murder of 33,000+ Palestinians, which is only possible at this scale with full US backing.
Nearly 2 years ago, a U.S. federal judge rightfully dismissed a meritless lawsuit filed by the Jewish National Fund against USCPR.
Now as plaintiffs appeal, our legal representation presented Oral Arguments today asking the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold this dismissal.
It’s important to recognize this lawsuit for what it is: a lawfare attempt.
Right-wing forces use such baseless lawsuits to harass & scare human rights defenders fighting to protect the most vulnerable.
This attack is part of a broader effort, led by the Israeli government and its network of NGO allies, to silence those who document Israel’s human rights abuses & demand accountability.
The Palestinian people in Masafer Yatta refuse to be ethnically cleansed from their homeland. #DefendMasaferYatta
Today, Israel began the year by destroying 4 Palestinian homes in Masafer Yatta, forcing out native Palestinian families who've existed on this land for generations
While the new increasingly fascist right-wing Israeli government is now in place, Israel has been brutally killing Palestinian people and stealing their land for decades.
Now, Israel is planning to accelerate ethnic cleansing in Masafer Yatta & expel 1,000+ Palestinian people.
The lack of international pressure, as the U.S. continually fails to hold Israel accountable, is only further enabling Israel's war crimes.
Remember: Our U.S. tax dollars—$3.8+ billion a year—fund Israel's colonial violence, like today's demolitions.
🧵 ALL EYES ON PALESTINE
The Israeli military & armed Israeli settlers are attacking Palestinian communities across Palestine. News from Palestine isn't getting out amid censorship & Israel’s targeting of journalists. Here’s what you need to know about what’s happening right now:
Shu’afat, a Palestinian refugee camp in Jerusalem, has been under Israeli military siege for 6 days.
Over 100,000 Palestinian people are affected as Israel blocks food & medical supplies from reaching them.
Palestinian people across Jerusalem declared a general strike in protest of Israel’s siege on Shu’afat after its residents announced civil disobedience.
