The DoJ's decision to form a task force in response to a request to invoke the PATRIOT ACT against parents upset about masks and CRT is terrifying... BUT (1/X)
We must not lose sight of the fact that this request was made by the National School Boards Association, on behalf of America's 90,000 school board members.
It's worth noting, too, that NSBA takes a brighter view of domestic terrorism when it comes from the left (2/X) ...
Their 2019 annual conference, featured a Keynote Lecture platform to Angela Davis, a woman who bought and allegedly supplied the shotgun her Black Panther lover used to kidnap and murder a judge.
Allegedly conspiring to murder a judge? Great!
Protesting CRT? Terrorism! (3/X)
NSBA is a far-left, radical, woke-captured organization wearing the status of "membership organization" as a skin suit.
Any state association that does not want to imprison parents for expressing conventional conservative opinions should disaffiliate (4/X)
So long as state associations and local school board members remain affiliated, they will effectively passive cosign NSBA's scorn not only for parents, but for the American system of republican self-government (5/x)
A new organization can and must be formed to support school board members who believe that parents who voice concerns should be heard and respected, not investigated and prosecuted (6/x)
Red state legislatures should prohibit taxpayer money from flowing to NSBA.
Philanthropists should provide seed funding to another org that can support them.
In more ways than one now, NSBA is part of a far-left edu-deep state. Time to build alternative institutions! (7/7)

President Biden's nominee for Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten (@BeKindDreamBig) has said that kids getting sexually assaulted at school isn't necessarily a serious issue.
Marten implied that sexual assault (rape) might not be serious if a disability was involved. Very consistent with her school district's decision to never tell the mother of a non-verbal student that her son was raped voiceofsandiego.org/topics/educati…
So, I have a story about John Weaver... fortunately not one thematically similar to the young men who he groomed and sexually exploited, but certainly one of historical and moral interest 1/x
In 2011, @michaeljknowles and I formed a student group to draft Mitch Daniels to run for President. We thought he had the character, temperament, and leadership skills to put America back on better moral and fiscal footing 2/x
The main factor said to be holding Daniels back at the time was his wife's reservations. They had divorced and remarried, and she did not want the media to pick over every detail in the very likely politics-of-personal-destruction that could come with a Presidential run 3/x
This is a good question, deserving of a short Twitter thread. Basically, Broward's Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes is both incompetent and as crooked as the day is long. 1/x
After progressive Democrat Tim Canova lost in a primary to Debbie Wasserman Schultz, he suspected that there may have been fraud involved so he launched a suit to find out miaminewtimes.com/news/tim-canov… 2/x
As part of this suit, he asked for an injunction against the destruction of the paper ballots and eventual access to them. After stonewalling for many, many months Brenda Snipes admitted - oops - she destroyed the ballots after she was told not to. sun-sentinel.com/local/broward/…
In NYC, hundreds of students transferred out of schools for safety reasons. They had produce a POLICE REPORT showing they were the victim of a CRIME in order to do so: ny1.com/nyc/all-boroug…
Not only did de Blasio's discipline reform make schools less safe according to students, it also made it HARDER for violent incidents to rise to the level where a report could occur. nypost.com/2017/08/01/her…
Some folks seemed eager to dismiss student-reported fights, disrespect, and drugs. One professor actually suggested that my findings might be a GOOD thing (because maybe kids just said that b/c restorative justice was raising consciousness). npr.org/sections/ed/20…
