One of 4 names we were given allegedly related to the #DTMpls mayhem/homicide last night.

Chronic offender on parole for weapons.
19 prior convictions including 8 felonies. Previously charged w/murder. ImageImage
Three prior convictions for felon in possession of a firearm. He should have been put away for life long ago.
Marvel Williams has at least three prior convictions for being a felon in possession of a firearm (in addition to numerous other felonies).
He was just charged AGAIN in May with being a felon in possession, plus drug charges. He was granted bail.

The 36-hr hold on the murder & riot charges has expired (charges can still be filed in the future).
However, Marvel Galvaston Williams is being held on a MNDOC hold (likely parole violation hold) & his bail on the pending case for felon in possession/drugs has been upped to $1M. ImageImage

South Minneapolis - Water emergency. A boater said there's a submerged vehicle in the lake 40 ft out on Bde Maka Ska/Calhoun.

 The boater told responders there's organic matter covering the vehicle, indicating that it may have been in the water for some time.

Reportedly closer to 35th/36th St on the east side of the lake.

Not considered a "rescue" at this point. Scaling back the response.

What we've been able to piece together... Part of this took place in Minneapolis overnight and may also be connected to a shooting or death (or other incident) in Chanhassen prior to that.

The above person, Daniel, was apparently found deceased in a downtown Minneapolis apt/condo this morning on Washington Ave S. after being the subject of a welfare check overnight. He was named as the shooter in the Chanhassen incident (which has not yet been disclosed by authorities).

Currently wanted on at least two warrants. One is an assault case from 2022, the other is a civil mental health case where Sawchak was deemed "mentally ill and dangerous."

 A police report was made in March in a separate assault case with another neighbor. Formal charges have yet to be filed because Mary Moriarty's office declined to charge a felony. Now the city attorney will review for possible lesser charges.

The same victim has had numerous run-ins with Sawchak as evidenced by the pile of MPD blue cards they've collected.Image

South Minneapolis - A caravan of illegally parked vehicles have gathered on Dean Parkway along with about 300 people. Park Police say they are preparing begin some kind of rolling demonstration/protest, but they won't tell police what it's about or where they're going.
