This is a long thread relaying what Laila pieced together from what @Alaa said when she visited him in Tora Prison today:
Sun Sept 12, (the day before the last court hearing), when Laila had brought his provisions and expected a letter, he had written expressing anger

expressing anger that he continues to be deprived of reading. The prison authorities refused to take the letter to give to her.
Tuesday 13th – after his outburst in court the day before – Laila went to the Prison to ask for a letter. One of the officers sat with him

(he may have been the Deputy Warden) & asked him what he wanted. Alaa replied that he:
1.Wants to be moved from Tora High Security Prison II , firstly because there is hostility between him & the administration – specifically the National Security officer,

secondly because he isn’t supposed to be in High Security as his charges are not related to arms or violence but to dissemination (of information).
2.That if they insist on keeping him in Tora High Security II then he wants his natural rights as a prisoner:
books,

books, newspapers, a watch, a radio & a daily hour of exercise. The officer promised he would try to get him these. Alaa wrote the letter that came out that day.
Sunday 19th – Laila went with the provisions. 5 days had passed with no change so Alaa wrote the same

the same angry letter he had written the previous Sunday. An officer asked him to change it. Alaa said he would change it if they brought him a book from the prison library. They could choose for him: any book of fiction or science. They went away & spent hours trying

trying to find out if they could do that. It turned out they couldn’t
Laila then went every day to demand a letter. The authorities would refuse to take the letter Alaa wrote & refuse to bring him any book from the prison library. He would refuse to change his letter

Sunday 3rd October, when Laila came with the provisions Alaa decided he had to spare her, so he wrote a normal letter. They refused to take it.

Monday 4th when Laila went back and asked for a letter Alaa wrote a letter of one sentence. They took it & he thought

he thought they had delivered it to her.
Saturday 9th when Laila went to the visit he learned from her that they had not given her the letter. Alaa is very angry. He assumes from this that the National Security officer is trying to manufacture a crisis.

Another important thing: Alaa says that on Sept 28 he saw a group of prisoners coming in, transferred from Torah Tahqiq Prison, blindfolded & handcuffed with their hands behind their backs. This in the daytime, from the normal entrance,

near the administration building & with a uniformed guard. This means that the practices that National Security used to carry out secretly in their own buildings are now being used by Prison Authority personnel publicly. Alaa has asked that his son Khaled

Alaa has asked that his son Khaled should no longer come to visit him in prison because he can’t be sure of what the child might see.
