Holy crap, this conspiracy theory which I did not know about until a minute ago
Hey @QanonAnonymous, I don’t think you’ve covered this one and boy oh boy would I enjoy hearing that
Good lord the Wikipedia entry starts out utterly bonkers and just gets more extravagant from there
And this is not even close to the most bonkers claim
Russia is the one whole-ass reason for civilization but all the historians are covering it up, basically

I’m feeling more and more lately like I might really run out of energy and coping mechanisms at some point in the not-too-distant future, and I’m not sure what to do with or about that.
Please don’t worry, I’m not thinking about harming myself or anything, I just find myself spending an increasing amount of time wondering how much more of Everything In General I can take before there has to be some kind of drastic checking-out.
Whether that means completely going offline or running off to live in a cave, I don’t know, but on a deep level this doesn’t feel sustainable to me

It feels like everything is literally breaking/needing to be replaced all at the same time and it’s very tiring
- the old to-be-sold car’s battery is dead
- the sink is leaking quite badly
- a bookshelf collapsed
- the vacuum cleaner won’t turn on
- the washing machine made a scary KERCHUNKACHUNKACHUNK noise (but seems okay??)
- both desktop computers are not doing well
All in like the last week

After suddenly finding myself with a profound hunger for Battle Royale stories, I’ve started watching Alice in Borderland, and while What Is Going On is clearly one of its core mysteries, so far I feel that it’s missing the biggest thing that makes Squid Game so horrifying.
Which is the very human evil at the core of the inhuman machine.

Not just the cackling people at the top, but the regular folks who make it run. Who work in the kitchens, who mop up, who burn the corpses.
How those people got to be there in Squid Game is in and of itself a profound and disturbing mystery, and one the show is keenly aware of although it never really provides an answer.

I think presumably they’re just people who really needed jobs.

SORTA SPOILERS FOR SQUID GAME

The problem with the ultimate explanation of “rich people did it just because they got bored” is that it is both unsatisfying and 100% realistic
The criticism I’ve seen in a couple places of that being weak writing… no, dude, it’s fine writing. Your problem is with reality.
We need to reckon with the now completely unignorable fact that we place significantly higher narrative standards on our stories than we do on real life

Democrats in general and this administration in particular are really putting things into a place where it’s not out of line to doubt whether they want there to be any meaningful consequences for anything
I’m so sick of the vaguely tough talk, I will give credit and a single shit if and when something actually happens
Again, I invite all the people who got snarky about those of us who were furious about the decision to not call witnesses in the second impeachment to go fuck themselves

Thinking about how Zdzisław Beksinski’s paintings are basically a gigantic troll to search engines because none of them have distinguishing titles of any kind
It’s actually kind of a troll to language, because it means that it’s almost impossible to talk about his work in any coherent specific way unless you just show people the one you’re talking about.
He may have intended that, I don’t know and can’t remember if I saw that info in the museum in Sanok when we went there
