Joined Twitter one year ago and it honestly changed my life!

Since joining
• made 1st $ online with vim.so
• started my company @SlipApp
• raised capital
• quit my day job
• got accepted into @ycombinator
• hired 1st engineer at Slip (@kyrelldixon)
Some folks on twitter who had an outsized impact on me:

@gabe_ragland and @GergelyOrosz both helped convince me to join twitter from the IndieHackers forum
@PaulYacoubian and @chris__lu were the first angel checks into Slip! I met them on twitter
@araghougassian hopped on the phone with me for a whole hour to explain the mechanics of accepting angel checks, then invested :)
@jaentwistle and @jbrowder1 moved with a TON of conviction early on into Slip. Really helped me be more ambitious
@damengchen inspired me to start vim.so with his tweets about his own projects
@noahwbragg started a slack group with a bunch of indie hackers that I call friends :) it's cool building with other folks
@JonSpeek and @katherinecodes used the earliest jankiest version of Slip and helped me prove out it was an idea worth pursuing
@terribledustin and @nikita_builds have been amazing course authors and friends :) I think their early success on Slip has helped encourage so many more folks to build courses with us
• so many more folks I'm probably not remembering right in the moment.

Collectively y'all twitter folks have had an ENORMOUS impact on my life. It's drastically different than one year ago today.

Thanks Twitter friends :)
a few more folks came to mind:

@JustJake helped out a ton when fundraising, made intros, had a crazy useful blog post, etc!

@FarzaTV got me into @fdotinc which is full of incredibly ambitious folks that push me as an entrepreneur each day

Software engineering interview experiences don't have to be terrible.

Thread on my best software engineering interview experience.
👇🏼 (Thanks @PaulYacoubian for the idea)
Starting from the top of the funnel, I heard of this company (fintech startup, close to $1b valuation, based in NYC) from a podcast they were advertising on, and I liked the mission.

I went to their website and applied.
Their application portal used greenhouse. One page and no need for re-typing resume info.

They had an open field that said "Tell me something we should know about you".

I wrote about how I was a career switcher, had kids, went to school while working full time, etc.
