Some hurl “TERF” like an insult. I’ve long thought, well this doesn’t quite fit me, but if that’s what you call me because I believe sex is real, I’ll accept it. I guess.
I’m neither “trans exclusive” or a “radical feminist.” But fine. If you must.
Then it occurs to me…
The criticisms against people who object to trans ideology are never “the MEN who actually kill trans people,” & rarely “transphobes” more generally. The problem is always TERFs - feminists, women.
Women don’t kill trans ppl. Men do. Trans ppl have killed women.
But it’s important that the focus remain, in liberal politics, on silencing feminists. Not because they have ever hurt a trans person. They haven’t. But because they have good arguments.
Women with good arguments are dangerous. And deserve to be punched.
Tale as old as time
So, I might not be the technical definition of TERF. But I am definitely #TeamTERF.
Sometimes I think a new term - like “sex realist” - would be great at expanding the movement. The term TERF seems to be to the sex denialists’ advantage… It divides people.
But that’s really the point of throwing the term TERF around, isn’t it? To make any objection to biological sex sounds like it came from the mouth of a jealous and bitter harpy.
As long as only crazy feminists object, then sex doesn’t have to be real!
And the term TERF also distracts any attention from the actual violence, at the hands of men, that trans people actually face.
It’s a weird movement, the transactivist one. All the violence is committed by men. All the ire is directed at women.
This whole transactivist movement is like the best-branded men’s supremacy movement I have ever seen in my life.
