Several ANC commissioners and residents say process for requested changes takes too long
We talked a little bit about that in a segment last week.
We’re near the Deanwood metro station where DDOT says it completed some traffic calming, bulb outs and pedestrian islands “quickly” (about a year for planning and construction). Partly at the request of the rec center across the street, partly a usual traffic safety assessment.
Bowser says she too is angry as is the community with recent traffic deaths, injuries.

Bowser talks about reckless driving, the distracted driving and the failure to share the road.
Bowser says DDOT working to accelerate pace of installing stop signs, traffic calming, flex posts, and more.
50 projects in the next six weeks. Residents can track progress on DDOT website.
