Before I begin, I want to make it clear I've been using @NotionHQ for over a year before 2021.
In April-May 2021, I joined @NotionHQ communities on almost every other platform (Discord, Facebook, Reddit and Slack), and started sharing my Notion pages and dashboards online.
Then, I started distributing free Notion templates on Twitter and Facebook. I received overwhelming response and it was really great. This helped me reach 1000 subscribers on @SubstackInc.
I also launched a few Notion products on @ProductHunt. While not every launch was a success, it did became a significant source of traffic to my @gumroad page.
Later, I saw the potential in @gumroad affiliates. I uploaded my templates on various Notion Template Marketplaces (@notionery, @GetPrototion) and partnered with blogs and newsletters.
Around that time, I decided to create my own website. I bought a domain, and build a website to showcase my Notion products on @webflow.
Having a website with a custom domain name really did made a difference in getting repeated customers. It also became much easier to redirect my audience and friends to check out more of my products.
I am grateful for many who paid for my free Notion products back then. It was encouraging, and it showed that people saw value in what I create.
I started creating more complex dashboard and bundled templates together to charge for a small price. Since then, I’ve been receiving a steady stream of income every month.
That's a quick a summary of my journey. In 2021-2022, I'm looking forward to help inspire more Notion creators and educate others on using Notion.
