Thread: 1/5 Ken was recruited in 1943 when he was just 16. He thinks he knew too much & so his father had to recruit him. Their OB was in a spoil heap at a nearby quarry, although they mainly used it as a store.
2/5 There was an elderly couple that overlooked the OB who would have had to have been ‘dealt’ with first as they had seen Patrol members entering and digging the OB - he didn’t know who was as given the task but expected it to absolutely done if necessary
3/5 They had weapons practice in the quarry. And only knew of other Patrols as they tested each other in the local area (gaining access to ammo dumps etc).
4/5 Only at stand down we’re the large group pics in #Cornwall taken (Ken in first standing row, 2nd right beret slipping off head)
5/5 He attended no reunions, his father said nothing to anyone after the war until his death. Ken only spoke in the early 2000’s after he saw an article in a local paper. I’ll post more details tomorrow (and images)! Thanks everyone!
