1/ Back in September, @Algorand announced their $300 Million DeFi fund to support the growth of its ecosystem. What that means for us 🦍is another chain to bridge our funds over to ape in!

Here's a quick thread about how to onboard to Algorand πŸ‘‡

2/ Short background
Algorand was founded by @silviomicali as a Layer 1 blockchain aiming to be scalable and secure to enable a decentralized digital currency and transactions platform.

3/ Wallets
There are 3 notable wallets:
1. Algorand Mobile Wallet
2. My Algo Wallet
3. AlgoSigner

I personally prefer the first wallet due to its clean UI/UX and it is a mobile app, making it convenient to access when I am on the move.

4/ Sending $ALGO for gas
After creating the wallet, you would need to fund it with $ALGO to pay for gas fees.

To do so, purchase it from CEXes such as @binance or @kucoincom and withdraw it to your wallet.

*Do ensure that the network is set to Algorand Image
5/ Bridging additional funds
Bridge funds from Ethereum to Algorand using @YieldlyFinance, a project that is backed by @cmsholdings and @LongHashVC.

Apart from the bridging capability, they offer staking pools and prize games.

6/ Tools
a) TVL: defillama.com/chain/Algorand πŸ’°

b) Chain explorer: algoexplorer.io or algoscan.appπŸ”
7/ Dapps to look out for
a) Dex: @tinymanorg which has a current total liquidity of ~$17mn. Swap and provide liquidity on Tinyman and enjoy its minimalistic design. Image
8/
b) Yield: @YieldlyFinance (mentioned above) with a current TVL of ~$53mn and a market cap of ~$54mn.

The app allows you to stake $YLDY tokens to earn other tokens in exchange and participate in various games to reap rewards. Image
9/
c) Lending and borrowing: @FolksFinance and @algofiorg which are coming soon

*Since there are not much Dapps live yet, I will be keeping tabs on @AlgoFoundation and @AlgorandReport for the latest updates.

Do share and retweet if you think this will benefit someone πŸ™

With crypto experiencing high degree of price fluctuations, it is imperative for protocols to offer safer products for the more risk averse investors.

Enter @templedao, which aims to offer a safe place for DeFi natives to seek refuge against volatility.

An ELI5 thread πŸ‘‡ Image
2/
TLDR: TempleDAO offers users automated investment pools to stake tokens to earn yield while reducing price fluctuations often seen in high risk crypto coins.

They employ several stability features in order to help stabilize the protocol and ensure investors are protected.
3/
Gap in the market
- Fixed supply of tokens: as more people enter this causes price to rise > early investors start selling which causes price to fall

- Mint 2nd token to incentivize staking: usually a worthless token which causes also causes mass selling

Creating a repository of threads I have made previously regarding guides on how to onboard to various EVM compatible chains.

With almost every L1/ L2 fighting for supremacy and offering incentives, it pays to be prepared in advance to get into projects before everyone else.

1/ The first EVM-compatible parachain on @kusamanetwork has gone live!

@MoonriverNW offers users a seamless experience through its full Ethereum compatibility and low gas fees.

A guide on how to get started πŸ‘‡

2/ Add Moonriver to your @MetaMask wallet:
Network: MOVR - Mainnet
RPC: rpc.moonriver.moonbeam.network
Chain ID: 1285
Symbol: MOVR
Block explorer: blockscout.moonriver.moonbeam.network

docs.moonbeam.network/tokens/connect…
3/ Send $MOVR to Metamask for gas fees using CEXs:
a) @krakenfx
b) @kucoincom (minimum 0.1 MOVR withdrawal)

*Ensure that it is the Moonriver network selected upon withdrawal Image

1/ But ser how do I port funds over to @avalancheavax and enjoy the yields??
2/ Option 1: Using Avax Wallet + @binance + @MetaMask.

Create an Avax wallet and take note of the X chain address. Binance only supports withdrawals to the X chain.

wallet.avax.network
3/ Buy AVAX on Binance and withdraw them to your Avax wallet using the X chain.

Once the withdrawal is complete, in the Avax wallet, select β€˜Cross Chain’ from the menu to transfer it to the C chain (EVM compatible).

1/ Compiling a list of some tools I find helpful to leverage Twitter more effectively to network, find information, and share content.

Ignoring all the shills and shit posting, there are nuggets of alpha to be unearthed if you follow the right accounts and dig deep enough.

πŸ‘‡
2/ Following too many CT influencers and constantly missing out on some of their tweets on your timeline?

Reduce the clutter by using @TweetDeck for a more focused view. You can add individual users (via columns) to display and view side by side instead of a single timeline.
3/ Cracking your head trying to find an old thread but unable to locate it on a user's profile?

Avoid unnecessary scrolling by using All My Tweets to find up to 3k worth of old tweets in a single page (Ctrl + F to find key words).

Found this gem of an article written by @santiagoroel in 2019 about frameworks for investing.

"The best investors tend to delay jumping to conclusions for as long as possible, and instead are continuously processing new information to test their theories."
"Investors listen more than talk, using the Investing Ability Framework (I = L/T) where L = time spent listening and T = time spent talking."

"Ideally the "I" should not be too high (talking more than listening), but not too low either (not asking enough questions)."
What I took away from this:
- Maxis lose out on opportunities as they are only fixated on what they think is the be all end all
- Constantly question your beliefs in projects (avoid locking yourself in an echo chamber)
- Don't be married to your portfolio (musical chairs strat)
