Policing freedom of speech and the forcing of platforms via legislation to either comply with heavy censorship of thought, opinion and information, or face being removed from public access, signifies the emergence of a Big Tech dictated police state. A global police state.
If you cannot see a problem when thousands of medical professionals and academics are being censored on every platform simply because the information they present contradicts the mainstream narrative, then you have a strong case of cognitive dissonance and are wilfully ignorant.
Communism begins with censorship. It ends with blood. So too, for that matter, does fascism. Contrary to popular belief, horseshoe theory stipulates that despite their ideological differences, these two extreme ideologies are far more similar in practice than they are different.
Extreme censorship is a hallmark trait reminiscent of totalitarian and authoritarian regimes. From the constant spewing out of blatant propaganda to the strict restriction of information to the burning of books.
Heavy censorship occurred during the Inquisition and the Crusades. It happened in Hitler's Germany, Mao's China. During the Kurdish ban in Iran. Following the military takeover of Chile. Under the Serbian nationalist takeover of Bosnia. And now, in 2020, on the World Wide Web.
Book burning takes many forms, and online censorship or academic disfellowship is simply modern day booking burning.

The thoughts and opinions which make up public discourse cannot influence the truth. They cannot alter it. The truth is the truth, and the truth stands alone.
If they were so confident that the evidence shows that what they are presenting is the truth, then they would not need to silence the people. The truth would stand. Censorship is merely a tool implemented to control and suppress individuals.

f there is no alternative narrative, no argument to test the validity of the information you are being provided with, simply radio silence, then you will never know. You will simply accept a belief set that you otherwise might not even recognise, because there is no alternative.

As any dissident opinion, or those who dare to question the official narrative, are labelled a "dangerous" radical fringe and the governments begin to impose laws and regulations which limit speech, it is becoming abundantly clear that freedom of speech is on death's doorstep.
We stand on the brink of a fully controlled technocratic totalitarian society.

Censorship and persecution always walk hand in hand. The silencing of an idea will eventually be seen as an inefficient half-measure, and shift to a more permanent solution where the target becomes the voice which spawned the ideas in the first place - marked for destruction.
