I've been reading up on what distinguishes colonialism from anything that the Muslims have ever done. In the end, it is that the people defining it want to exclude anyone not white or Jewish.

For example, "modern colonialism" is defined to start in the 15th century....
1/
which is when the Portuguese expanded into Africa followed by the Spanish and the New World.

But the bulk of the Ottoman Empire growth happened after 1500 as well.
2/
And they expanded into Africa as well!

So then the definers say, no, colonialism is when the native labor and resources are exploited. But the Ottomans levied on taxes - specifically for non-Muslims. It was still an economic gain for them at the expense of the colonized.
3/
When definitions are created in such a way, it betrays an agenda.

In this case, it is that colonialism is a white (and lately Jewish) only crime.

So 500 employees of @Amazon and @Google want to end a $1.2b contract with Israel. Let's talk about this.

1/
@amazon @Google Even they admit that Google has contracts with governments and entities they don't like.

Yet...no letter to the Guardian about those deals.

Hmmm. Wonder why not.
2/
@amazon @Google In fact, the petitionrs don't even mention huge Google deals with Saudi Arabia, or its re-entry into the China market after publicly leaving.

Hmmmm. Wonder why not.

I just re-looked at @HRW's argument that Israel is guilty of apartheid, and I discovered how Human Rights Watch purposefully twists international law. I'll post the details Sunday, but here is the gist of it.
1/
@hrw All the major laws (Apartheid Convention, Rome Statute) that define apartheid use the words "domination by one racial group over any other racial group." HRW needs to expand that nto "national" group to apply to Palestinians. (Calling Jews a race is not a good look.)
2/
@hrw So @HRW points to a different convention for its definition. The International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) says “racial discrimination” as "based on race, colour, descent or national or ethnic origin."

Twenty reasons anti-Zionists are antisemites: A thread.
1. If you are pro-Palestinian, you are actively supporting the one group that has the highest perfcentage of antisemites in the world (Pew poll.)
2. If you are anti-Zionist, that means you say Jews - alone among all peoples = have no right to their own homeland in their historic home.

Here is an adorable girl in Gaza who is attending a school that teaches hate.

She doesn't hate Jews now. But in a few years she will be indoctrinated to want to give birth to martyrs. Image
This tweet seems to have hit a nerve among the haters.

Good.

They know it is true and therefore are responding with "whataboutery" - or justification for hate..
Her school had an assembly on Saturday claiming that the 1969 fire at Al Aqsa (by a deranged Australian Christian) was the first step by Jews to destroy the mosque. Pure incitement to hate Jews. facebook.com/permalink.php?… Image

A quick lesson on psychology, anti-Zionism and antisemitism.

It has been known for quite a long time that people tend to make decisions based on emotion and only afterwards back up their decisions with what superficially passes for logic.
1/
Studies have consistently shown that people will trust facts that confirm their biases and reject those that prove them wrong.
2/
Antisemitism has been around forever, but since the Holocaust it has been socially unacceptable to be publicly antisemitic. But the Holocaust didn't change people's natures; it just made it shameful to be on the same side as Hitler.

The NYT article quoted here doesn't mention settlements. @kenroth is so obsessed with Israel that he has to throw in digs when irrelevant,

Removing settlements is not international law. No one - including @HRW - says Turkey must remove settlements from N. Cyprus.

Roth lies.
@KenRoth @hrw Speaking of, international legal scholars recognize that settlers have human rights, too - IN N. CYPRUS. For some reason @KenRoth doesn't believe that Jews have human rights. Quote from the Encyclopedia of Human Rights Vol 1. elderofziyon.blogspot.com/2017/09/the-on…
@KenRoth @hrw Int'l law is against "transfer" of citizens to occupied territory. Transfer in every other context in Geneva means forcible transfer, based on a Nazi practice. Jews who move to Judea/Samaria do it voluntarily.

Forcible transfer of Jews OUT of their homes in J&S may be illegal!
