(π¨)Emma Kunz, a quick thread about one of the most exceptional artist who created generative art without computers:π§΅ππβ¬οΈ
Emma Kunz was a visionary artist born on the swiss-german speaking side of Switzerland in 1892.
She was not a trained artist and considered herself a telepathic healer and a researcher with divinatory capabilities. She began to draw when she was 40 years old.
None of her 400 drawings were titled nor dated. Her first exhibition occurred in 1973, 10 years after her death.
Her drawings were created and used for her patients to restore psychic imbalances.
Emma could work more than 48 hours without interruptions on her artwork. Using colored pencils and pastels on graph paper, she was building vibrational kaleidoscopic shapes almost looking like mandalas.
She considered her drawings as multidimensional holograms creating a resonance within the viewer's perception.
Her production is very evocative of early computer and generative arts.
Since 1991, her artworks can be seen in a dedicated museum in WΓΌrenlos.
