My name is Debo. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment in Canada with my wife and 2 kids. I used to be a student while my wife works full time. My wife and I are always at loggerhead because though she is working full-time, she never contributes a cent to the running of our home.
I have to work extra hours after school just to pay rent, buy food, and take care of our kids. I originally came to Canada alone, so I used to live in a shared apartment, which was way convenient for me. But when my wife & kids were coming to join me, I had to get a bigger space.
I have done everything humanly possible to make this woman understand that this is not Nigeria, and she needs to step up by contributing to rent or at least buy food in the house, but she remains adamant. She goes about telling everyone who cares to listen that I am a wicked man
My husband came to Canada in 2020 as an int'l student. He applied for our kids (twins) & myself to join him. Our marriage has never been great because my husband is a control freak & he literally controls my entire life. He wasn't always like this, I don't know how we got here.
He never hesitated to hit me at any slight provocation even in the presence of our kids. My salary goes into our joint account and he made sure I didn't have access to my salary. He was hesitant to bring me to Canada because he was scared the system wouldn't let him control me.
Anyways when I came, he stopped his part-time job and persuaded me work full time plus extra extra shifts to make the entire household income while he juggled school & took care of our boys since we could not get any daycare space for them immediately.
How to increase your chances of landing a job as a visitor in Canada:
•Take relevant short courses in an academy or college. This can boost your chances of landing a job, especially because some employers come to these colleges to recruit people who have successfully completed relevant training.
•Submit your Canadian formatted resume both online & in person. Don't just submit online. Go there in person. It always makes a difference.
•Research about jobs in demand in the province you are visiting & get the relevant skills & experience before arriving at the province.
Canada is not even smiling. This happened just this weekend. Dammy came into Canada 2 nights ago from Nigeria but was returned back to Nigeria that same night. Here is the full gist.....
Dammy used an agent in Nigeria to apply for his admission and visa processing. Everything went well & his visa was approved. His agent told him he could go ahead to book his flight and travel to Canada. He went ahead and booked his flight to Canada, which cost him over ₦1.5m
On arriving in Montreal, Canada, Dammy had taken photos and shared with his family & friends to update them that he had landed in Canada. Dammy's problem started when he got to the immigration officer at the airport, where he was supposed to be issued his study permit.
Canada is not a country you can come to, mess up, and go scot-free. Violet came to Canada in 2001 & claimed a refugee status. She told immigration that her folks in Nigeria wanted to force her into marriage & also subject her to female genital mutilation.
Canada, as a sweet country, granted her a permanent residency (PR) status in 2004. After she got her PR, she was busy traveling back & forth to the Nigeria she claimed her people wanted to force her into marriage & mutilate her. She traveled to Naija 10 times between 2004 - 2014.
Little did she know that all those trips & applications/ renewals of her Nigerian passport were triggering Canadian immigration to monitor & revisit her case. So when anyone enters Canada & claims refugee, it means they are declaring that they are in danger in their country or
