I'll be starting with debunking counter arguments.
1) "Luffy promised to Katakuri that he would take down Big Mom"
Luffy said the same thing about Jack, and that didn't work out.

The latest chapter 1029 makes the downfall of Big Mom much more clear as well

It's extremely disingenuous to act like Luffy and Kid haven't been portrayed as rivals. There is nothing wrong with adding another rival besides Blackbeard.

The whole point of the scabbards fighting first and then supernova was to show that they are far superior fighters. This 4 scabbard attack vs Zoro's is an obvious example

Other examples would include their performance against dragon form Kaido compared to the supernova.
You also can't ignore that this is a 2v5, and that Big Mom is there too. The supernova have it much harder, and In order to remove Zoro they had to use a combined yonko attack.

Just like with Luffy there are power ups on their way. Law and Kid will power up and that will make it even more difficult for Big Mom to handle them. Especially since it's a tag team they should be able to level the playing field with Big Mom even without those power ups.
I think I've addressed the most common counter arguments at this point for why Big Mom isn't allowed to fall, so now I'll get into why Kid getting conquerors coating isn't an asspull. A few people told me awakening made more sense and I completely disagree.
Hyogoro's training helped improve Luffy's haki flow, but there's no implications of his advanced armanent haki techniques being what's required to unlock conquerors coating.
We have no idea the extent to which Kid has haki flow. Unlocking it also comes off as a realization.

Kid and Killer's spirits are even hyped up to be incredibly strong. So much that Hawkins thought they would end up dead because they'd never submit to Kaido.
It would also be incredibly lame if Oda has decided to give Kid conquerors haki and not utilize it at all.

I don't see Kid awakening.
Awakening provides versatility and increases the fruit's efficiency and output, but that's not Kid's problem. His problem right now is being able to damage Big Mom reliably. He's already versatile and creative with his fruit.

A better case for awakening in this arc would be for Law. He has next to no haki feats, he's done nothing but use his fruit, and an awakening could potentially solve his stamina issues.
His room's seem to be becoming larger and set up faster as well. He has "curtain" too now.

I have addressed all the counter arguments. I will now break down how I envision this fight to go.
This will probably get controversial but hear me out. I believe that this fight will remain a 2v1 for quite some time, but ultimately it will be a 1v1 of Kid vs Big Mom.

Law will serve a similar purpose to Yamato in this fight. He will be there to level the playing field for Kid and then certain events will lead to him taking his leave. Killer wasn't pushed to power up in his fight either, so I believe he should head towards Kid to help.
Before I leave everyone angry for too long about what I just said in regards to Law, I do not think he will get defeated. In fact, I think he will get a 1v1 of his own in this arc against who I believe to be the leader of CP0.
Law's new found dream of finding out the meaning of the will of D is not a coincidence. In the same arc Robin is getting targeted by CP0, Law is shown having an interest in this information. Law cannot achieve this without Robin, and he's typically around Robin anyways.
Law still has a bone to pick with the World Government as well.
The World Government only allowed the royals to escape the island from the White Lead Disease, they left everyone else to die.
They were also responsible for faking Doflamingo's resignation from the Warlords.

You might be wondering how Law is going to reach the CP0 agents, and why is this is even considered a possibility?
Well, there is Law, Big Mom, and CP0 who are all 3 interested in Nico Robin. Big Mom should somehow make her way to Robin, and CP0 is self explanatory.

Oda was able to change Kid and Big Mom from the rooftop to inside the skull dome by simply having Big Mom use a strong knockback ability with Hera. Something like this can happen again.
There is also a high likelihood that these CP0 agents are from Big Mom's flashback as well.

If these CP0 agents are the kids from Big Mom's flashback then I can see Big Mom finally coming to terms with what she did in her past.
Her reaction to this will be a decider in her downfall as an emperor in this arc.

When the fight reaches CP0, I expect that X Drake will also join up to fight a CP0 agent. I don't see Oda missing out on SWORD vs SHIELD. Cipher Pol Aegis Zero. Aegis = Shield.

I am still not sure on where Killer will continue to fight on Onigashima, but I fully believe he needs another 1v1 to push him into a power up. Killer should at least head to Kid to help and he might join or run into a 1v1 on the way. Kid will end up in a 1v1 regardless though.
Smoothie is a candidate for a 1v1 but not so likely. There is also the slight chance he fights a CP0 agent. Brook and Drake have stronger case in my opinion.
