TMC has appointed many on temporary jobs in municipalities and the likes. Meager salary of few thousands. One of their job requirement is to attend all TMC rallies in their neighborhoods. This is the secret of the large crowds they get, none of that is spontaneous.
If you have heard the speeches of any current Trinamuli leader you would know that those have nothing to hold crowd attention other than financial rewards. To be fair, this may hold for ruling parties everywhere.
Once they became the ruling party, CPIM used to get massive crowds in Brigade luring people from villages with the promise of a paid trip to Calcutta for sight seeing.
Before CPIM got power, for every massive rally, they used to go around in the neighborhood collecting “ruti “ s (breads) to feed the attendees. Part of that was genuine because they didn’t have much money then, part was enlisting public support & an effective way at that.
If you contribute your homemade rutis to your neighborhood boys moving from home to home for those rutis, their party immediately becomes your party. That is, the concept of “আমাদের দল”, “our party”. This never happens for a wealthy party, but an upcoming 1 with modest resources

Looking at how Hindu temples are being destroyed with impunity in Tripura, it becomes clear once more that one should not vote for party tags, but for CM faces. Manik Sarkar is a much better CM than Biplab Deb. Tripura shouldn’t have voted 4 BJP with Biplab as prospective CM
What was Biplab Deb’s political and governance experience before he was foisted by RSS ? Zero, zilch. He didn’t even live in Tripura for a while before he was flown in. He used to live in Delhi!! Manik Sarkar had a lifetime of experience in contrast !
Personally I have some hesitation voting for CPIM knowing the Communist ideology. But I would have made an exception for Manik Sarkar.
Adroitly, Swapan Dasgupta places the blame of apathy of MEA towards the plight of Hindus of Bangladesh on Hindus of West Bengal. Complete Dalal of Delhi/BD. This is also a clever attempt to discourage WB BJP from pursuing their current line on Hindus of BD telegraphindia.com/opinion/bengal…
First, objectively speaking, is the apathy narrative true? Yes & No. First the no part. This is the first time that the Islamist intelligentsia as also CPIM had to issue a statement, albeit weak,on the condition of minorities in BD.Why?Obviously because of SM pressure of Bengalis
All Hindu orgs with the exception of RKM took to streets on this. Pro BJP YouTube channels were obviously outraging. But also unaffiliated political voices like Arkaprabha, Biswanath etc.Eventually even a compromised journo like Suman of ABP had 2 do a Sabha on this
Fear of going to jail got to go. For just causes. Many freedom fighters have gone to jail. While tweeting this it is fair to acknowledge that personally I had only one confrontation with police at a police station, and a mild one at that. A thread on what that was and how I fared
2012 December. I was on a vacation in Daman-Diu with my mother. We took an auto rickshaw. And the driver sought to extort from us. Didn’t keep his side of the bargain and insisted that we pay him what was agreed upon. I could afford it, but the unreasonableness annoyed me.
I insisted on a financial penalty. After an argument, he said let’s go to a police station. I said, fine, let’s do so. This would be the first trip to a thana both for my mother and myself. Bhadtomohilas don’t fancy trips to thanas. My mother would rather pay him up.
My thread on infiltration of highest levels of intelligence echelon of India & Modi GoI by Islamists. This explains why the Bangladesh lobby wields an inordinate amount of power regardless of which party rules India
Flagging the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh and protesting against the same is an enormous risk for any politician in any party. Stringent opposition in the name of foreign policy is inevitable. And knives would be out for them by multiple lobbies.
Therefore if any politician takes the courageous Dharmik path of flagging and organizing protests in streets against Hindu persecution in Bangladesh, it is our Dharmik duty to support them. Exposing BD is far more challenging in the Indian polity than exposing Pakistan.
BJP’s Kabiyal MLA Asim Sarkar does come up with a counter slogan for Joy Bangla, Bijoy Bangla, বিজয় বাংলা More creative than 👇as “Bi” can be opposite, while Bijoy has a positive connotation. But I think mine associates Joy Bangla 2 Hindu persecution more:
Asim Sarkar is an asset for BJP. He is the classical Bengali Sanskriti
সংস্কৃতি as opposed to Trinamuli Apasanskriti, অপসংস্কৃতি. BJP should forefront him more, even outside Nadia. He is an insider of Bengal, the folk, rural Bengal, unlike the Urdu-English Mahua & Bhaipomoni
And, counter slogans are the most/only effective way to take on a toxic slogan, which Joy Bangla is for all Hindus given what it meant for them in Bangladesh formed with that chant.
What a shameful Islamist apology of ethnic cleansing of a hapless religious minority. Apparently its to OK to butcher the Hindus living in Bangladesh because India decided to give citizenship to the Hindus of Bangladesh who fled that exact savagery! Disgusting genocide enablers!
Hypothetically, even if we assume that Muslims in India are facing injustice, which is outright false, it becomes alright to cleanse the Hindus of BD for that. And this view is shared by a high level Indian Intel officer who was in charge of Pak, Afg deepstrat.in/team/amitabh-m…
Read carefully the bio of the man who plugged it deepstrat.in/team/amitabh-m… He was appointed in a senior position by Modi in his GoI. See how strong the Islamist/Bangladesh lobby is in Delhi, regardless of the party in power ?
