This year YIMBY Action is having TWO big end of the year parties in California, featuring some of the amazing legislators who are making housing policy change possible.
10) You'll run into people you know from Housing Twitter and realize they're pretty awkward IRL and it will be strangely endearing. (Yes, you should DM this tweet to someone you're thinking of right now.)
9) Speaking of Housing Twitter idols, Senator @Scott_Wiener, @DavidChiu, Mayor @LondonBreed, and Assemblymember @QuirkSilva65th will be among those toasting all the YIMBY movement has accomplished - and the hard work ahead!
8) It's literally the only place right now where you can purchase a NIMBY Tears mug. We'll probably have them online at some point, but if you want to be sure you can get your mother a slightly passive aggressive Christmas present in time, grab your ticket now!
6) Don't you just miss parties in general? Yes, these are outdoors, but they will be super cute. You get to freak out about what you're gonna wear! It's like going back in time...
Seriously tho. What are you gonna wear to an outdoor, urbanist, fancyish party?
5) If you're new to YIMBY, you'll be at a party of people who literally think new people are cool. If you're pro-housing and wanting to meet new friends, this is the party for you!
3) We had some hard-fought victories this year, but there is so much work to do. We've changed the conversation about housing, but overturning systems that perpetuate systemic racism and climate change doesn't happen overnight.
Come fill your cup, both literally and emotionally.
2) You'll get to gossip about what's coming up next in the politics of housing. Fourplex ballot props, upcoming state legislation, federal funding, State Legislature races, Housing Element Enforcement... You'll hear it at our parties first!
1) You love supporting the YIMBY movement! Come hang!

Nahalat Shimon, a U.S.-based settler organization, is trying to have Palestinians evicted. Once they are evicted, the property would then be turned over to Jewish settlers under Israeli law. They would get nothing to ease their displacement.
In addition to these evictions and others of the same kind, the Israeli government refuses to grant building permits to Palestinians in the occupied territories who seek to build themselves homes.
