Suvendu Adhikari does another protest rally in Nandigram against attack on Hindus in BD concluding with a Yagna & enumerates atrocities on Hindus there. Main Message: If you harm a single Hindu, we will protest. Watch this speech if u understand Bangla
Suvendu is the only politician in Bengal who is persisting with the protest against Hindus of Bangladesh. After all other politicians have left the issue. Perhaps this is his conviction and bigger calling (stating this despite being cynical about politicians in general).
Suvendu states that he would retire from politics only after Hinduizing West Bengal. He is stubborn and fought many mighty powers, he would have stopped long back if he were afraid of false cases. The local Islamists & Trinamulis won’t be able to do anything to him.
Even if this is only politics, then it is a refreshingly creative politics, hitherto unseen in WB. Goes beyond the usual opposition politics of unearthing this scam and that scam, talking of this party hopping & that party hopping, which are all there but not the only thing now.
Suvendu is also a hard nosed seasoned politician, which need not always be mutually exclusive of conviction. He knows that his cadres need a bigger calling to withstand Trinamuli terror + lucre. And that bigger calling can’t be power grab for Modi Ji, Shah Ji, Dilip Ji etc etc.
Hindus in BD took out massive rallies in face of Jihadi terror. “And how can man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his Gods ?”Protecting Dharma can be that bigger calling. Particularly for those in Hindu orgs, BJP’s natural base
Genuine political and cultural Hinduism is the only way to motivate BJP’s Hindu base to withstand Trinamuli terror. This I think is Suvendu’s political call. Given what politicians do everyday it is natural to be cynical, but politics isn’t bad if it is aligned to a good cause.
Either way Suvendu is certainly taking big political risk by angering the Bangladesh lobby that has wide reach within BJP, RSS and the political ecosystem well beyond BJP. But this risk is necessary to unseat Begum which is must for Bengal’s survival.

There are several things Modi & Shah need to answer for before they come to WB to ask for votes. Why is Mamata being invited to T20 WC final? Clearly all chief ministers aren’t being invited. What’s so special about her? It couldn’t have happened w/o Jay Shah’s consent.
Next, why was Rajib Banarjee accommodated in the National Exec Body of BJP when it was clear that he would jump ship any moment? Is this an internal matter of BJP? No. Because he has betrayed trust of BJP’s voters, overall 38.1% of WB voted for BJP. So, what’s the deal?
Why repeatedly corruption cases against Bhaipomoni and Bhaipo Bou are stalled ?

Plugging directly from TMC handle, contrast the crowd Bhaipomoni draws when not in power with those in WB. The diff in WB-all temporary workers in different GoWB jobs need to attend TMC rallies. Noteworthy only because their chotichatas regularly mock opposition on crowd size
In this crowd, how many are Dudhel Gais imported from WB ? That tells us the spontaneous enthusiasm about TMC in Tripura.
Outside power, Bhaipomoni won’t have bigger crowd than this in WB. Truth be told, there isn’t anything in what he speaks that’s worth hearing.

Top left and Congress leaders in WB have watched Mamata’s totalitarianism in close quarters. They genuinely dislike her. They would have been delighted at the drubbing she got in Nandigram. This is how I am reading Sujon’s Subho Bijoya visit at Suvendu Adhikari’s office.
The dislike that Congress & CPIM leaders have for Mamata far, far exceeds that of RSS, leader to cadre, of her, who are simply in awe of her. Many of the BJP base online are quite friendly to TMC IT cell folks, similar to how their long time leaders are to Mamata.
In Hindu Bengali culture, Subho Bijoya trips are made by younger folks to homes of older ones. Sujon’s trip to Suvendu’s office inverts that order. He must be delighted at how Suvendu is taking on Mamata by the horns.

Looking at how Hindu temples are being destroyed with impunity in Tripura, it becomes clear once more that one should not vote for party tags, but for CM faces. Manik Sarkar is a much better CM than Biplab Deb. Tripura shouldn’t have voted 4 BJP with Biplab as prospective CM
What was Biplab Deb’s political and governance experience before he was foisted by RSS ? Zero, zilch. He didn’t even live in Tripura for a while before he was flown in. He used to live in Delhi!! Manik Sarkar had a lifetime of experience in contrast !
Personally I have some hesitation voting for CPIM knowing the Communist ideology. But I would have made an exception for Manik Sarkar.

Adroitly, Swapan Dasgupta places the blame of apathy of MEA towards the plight of Hindus of Bangladesh on Hindus of West Bengal. Complete Dalal of Delhi/BD. This is also a clever attempt to discourage WB BJP from pursuing their current line on Hindus of BD telegraphindia.com/opinion/bengal…
First, objectively speaking, is the apathy narrative true? Yes & No. First the no part. This is the first time that the Islamist intelligentsia as also CPIM had to issue a statement, albeit weak,on the condition of minorities in BD.Why?Obviously because of SM pressure of Bengalis
All Hindu orgs with the exception of RKM took to streets on this. Pro BJP YouTube channels were obviously outraging. But also unaffiliated political voices like Arkaprabha, Biswanath etc.Eventually even a compromised journo like Suman of ABP had 2 do a Sabha on this

Fear of going to jail got to go. For just causes. Many freedom fighters have gone to jail. While tweeting this it is fair to acknowledge that personally I had only one confrontation with police at a police station, and a mild one at that. A thread on what that was and how I fared
2012 December. I was on a vacation in Daman-Diu with my mother. We took an auto rickshaw. And the driver sought to extort from us. Didn’t keep his side of the bargain and insisted that we pay him what was agreed upon. I could afford it, but the unreasonableness annoyed me.
I insisted on a financial penalty. After an argument, he said let’s go to a police station. I said, fine, let’s do so. This would be the first trip to a thana both for my mother and myself. Bhadtomohilas don’t fancy trips to thanas. My mother would rather pay him up.
