You're going to give away something of value for free in exchange for an email

Before we see how to create it

Let's understand the purpose of it

The only purpose of a lead magnet is to get people into your funnel

It's a sales pitch (with value) for your main product/service

You're pre-selling your customers on your main product

Let's see an example ...

My main product is "how to create and sell ebooks"

So my lead magnet (free ebook) is about "how to make $3000/month selling ebooks"

The purpose of my free ebook is to sell people on the idea of selling ebooks

And how simple it is to make money selling ebooks

It's important that your lead magnet must be relevant to the main product you're trying to sell (even if it's an affiliate product)

You're selling a writing course (or affiliating for one)

Our goal is to show people the benefits of Writing well

Now you've two options

...

Option 1

Find 1 best book on writing

Summarize the key learnings from it

Add relevant images, quotes from the author

Make it beautiful

Package it in an ebook

Your lead magnet is ready

Option 2

This is easier than the option 1

Find 5 best writers on Twitter

Go to their profile

Find a couple of their best threads about writing

Package them in an ebook + add your opinion/tips or the things you learned

Simply their ideas

(Give proper credit)

How long should your free ebook be?

There are no hard rules here but keep it as short as possible

No fluff. Just actionable stuff. Give your readers an immediate win.

I prefer 5 to 15 pages

Something your readers can read in 15 to 30 minutes

A few design rules

If you're only going to publish a PDF version

Use A5 paper size (Not A4) Much easier to read on the phone

Use 13 size fonts for the text

20 size for the title
