The GOP hasn’t had a glowing policy or economic record to run on in at least 60 years but they’ve still won the majority of the White vote for the last 56 because their record of unyielding White supremacy speaks for itself.
A lot of the White moderates/Alt-Lefties chastising Democrats for “not having a record to run on” are the same folk who create chronic legislative gridlock by either sitting out elections in protest or purposely voting GOP bc they think divided government is a wise check/balance.
Never forget that American media habitually provides cover for White supremacy and fascism by swooping in to sanitize the GOP’s Jim Crow propaganda as legitimate and substantive public policy. #SouthernStrategy101

Folk need to disabuse themselves of the notion that all we have to do is just wait for the Jim Crow generations to “die off”, bc White Gen-Z still shows NO signs of doing or being much better. The GOP zeroes in on schools bc incomplete/whitewashed history keeps them in business.

Reality is the predominantly rural & suburban White Texans who keep electing Republicans aren’t actually winning anything but the freedom to die of Whiteness without interference from a functional social safety net. Their electoral “victory” ultimately amounts to self-sabotage. Image
They’re gonna keep killing themselves with guns, drugs/alcohol & science denial and the folk they just elected will keep not giving a fuck. Their kids will remain uneducated, unmotivated & uncompetitive and the wages of Whiteness won’t be enough to sustain them or turn the tide.
Also their feigned religiosity isn’t ever gonna save them from the consequences of their disastrous political choices. Their family systems are in a shambles and there aren’t enough behavioral health providers or community resources to clean up the endless messes they’re making.

Translation: despite the urgency of beating back GOP fascism/treason, a lot of White Independents & “moderates” would STILL rather pine away for an imaginary coalition they don’t have the numbers to build than join a *multicultural* coalition that successfully elects Democrats.
Ever notice how they wait til the last 3-9 months before an election to decide they’re suddenly so dissatisfied with the menu options that they’d risk an alternative path that’ll most assuredly result in further dystopian bullshit at the hands of the GOP/White voting majority? 🧐

Because the base of the Democratic Party’s been Black voters for the last 60 years, so just as Black people have always been held to blatant double standards that our White counterparts aren’t, the Democratic Party’s always a convenient scapegoat while the GOP gets away w/murder.
IOW, instead of holding the White voting majority accountable for repeatedly electing Republicans thereby enabling austerity/patriarchy/theocracy/fascism, they blame the Democratic Party for not being powerful enough to undo the damage without ANY help from the White majority.
They literally do this every election season b/c their fuckery is predicated on convincing enough voters (mostly White ones) that Democrats are too feckless, ignorant & mistrusted to win their votes. They claim both sides are the same b/c fascism poses no imminent threat to them.
