Following reports of numerous deaths at Travis Scott's Astroworld festival. Video from the scene shows 3 people receiving CPR. Unclear what has caused the injuries and deaths.
It doesn't appear to be any sort of shooting or direct attack. Early reports of either a stampede or bad drugs.
I've seen video of at least 6 different people getting CPR.
The scene is surreal. Videos show people dancing right next to unconscious people receiving aid. Two hours later, no updates from officials:
This is really really ugly after going through some eyewitness reports. It would be nice to have an official update.
Another Redditor:
A witness (language warning): "As soon as Travis Scott came out... everyone was screaming 'help! 'help! help'... it felt like we were in hell." instagram.com/tv/CV7DxlOlJlI…
"There were so many bodies laid out..."
"There was no room for you to lift your chest to breathe"
Press conference now:
Fire Chief: "This is a tragic night. This is an ongoing investigation...We had 8 confirmed fatalities."
"Scores of individuals injured. Attendance of 50,000."
"At 9:15, the crowd began to compress towards the stage... that caused panic and injuries. People fell unconscious. Houston Fire Department transported 17 patients to the hospital."
"11 of those transported were in cardiac arrest"
"We ask that if your family member was at this event... We have a reunification center" at the Wyndham Hotel in Houston.
"The Houston Fire Department had over 55 units responding to this incident... Over 300 patients were treated at the field hospital."
Chief of Police warns against speculation. "We just don't know" the full extent of what happened.
"We have heard rumors of people injecting people with drugs."
"We had a patient that was as young as 10."

I don’t usually do this, but this guy Stern pitched me a wild story a year ago about him going undercover and discovering a Russian spy ring in Florida that the feds were going to take down. He’s a serial fabricator. Pass pass pass.
It’s Deripaska, it could be anything, but I’ll remind people that there was a money laundering investigation still bounding thru the UK courts as of last year bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
CNN says that the raid is connected to an investigation in *New York*, which is weird because I haven’t seen any activity at Deripaska’s two residences in NY cnn.com/2021/10/19/pol…
The bottom line: We *still* don't know why Alfa Bank was pinging the Trump Org-registered server, and there are tantalizing new clues in the @DanielJJonesUS report. krebsonsecurity.com/2021/09/lawsui…
I've yet to hear a rational explanation about how this can be explained.
"it is as if a person at the Trump Organization created a new unlisted telephone number, and shortly thereafter, the first incoming call received was from Alfa Bank, the most frequent caller of the old telephone number."
NEWS: Trump's lawyer Jay Sekulow signs on to represent Doug Wead, a senior GOP advisor accused of helping a Russian military operative donate money to the 2016 Trump campaign.
Jane Raskin is also on the team defending Wead, who has pleaded not guilty.
Wead is out on a personal recognizance bond. He has relinquished his passport.
BREAKING: The unnamed Russian national who funneled money to Trump and the RNC is Roman Vasilenko, a former military officer at the Leningrad Naval Base whose resume resembles that of an intelligence asset: forensicnews.net/decorated-russ…
Jesse Benton, Mitch McConnell's former campaign manager, and Doug Wead, a senior advisor to Rand and Ron Paul were indicted for conspiring to move Vasilenko's cash to Trump and the RNC. Wead in particular is acquainted with Vasilenko.
Awesome work from @MC_Eades who found the pic this morning! Great job.
