This is a first for me in Zillow-watching: Beds in the theater room. "Impressive home theater and meditation sanctuary" per the listing. I'm guessing the crazy Escher-style room (or is it Dazzle camouflage?) leads to it. #SaturdayNightZillow
Not sure about having upholstered furniture in the bathroom. But it looks nice. #SaturdayNightZIllow
Really just a nice house. The bedroom is too big for my taste, but the grounds are pretty, and if it was, say, 1/10th the price I'm in! #SaturdayNightZIllow
Next up on #SaturdayNightZillow: a fantasy castle estate in Woodstock, Connecticut. It's *INSANE* and priced like it too. $35M.
126-foot towers, 18K+ sf, 9BR/7+BA/12 fireplaces, *75 acres*, MOAT
h/t @DrewSavzillow.com/homedetails/45…
The interior of the castle has quirks. Almost overstuffed. I assume owned by a collector? Is that a mummy sarcophagus, totem pole, etc? #SaturdayNightZillow
The kitchen is a little visually disorienting though spectacular. I kind of imagine it's where Merlin whips up some potions. #SaturdayNightZillow
There is a long, strange, sad story behind this castle. Read through the link about the man who built it:
Up next on #SaturdayNightZillow, a 10K sf Nevada party mansion with a *colossal* LAZY RIVER, a waterfall w/ hidden grotto, two jacuzzis + views of Lake Mead. Um, isn't there a water shortage out West? zillow.com/homedetails/10…
Inside is sort of fairly standard megamansion fare. Suit of armor, kitchen that is almost too large. Nice water wheel/kitschy old West thing going on outside. #SaturdayNightZillow
Surprised this house is just $3.9M honestly. You could charge admission to that lazy river.
Strong "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Whose the Fairest of Them All" energy in this bathroom. But, as @StephanieKelton notes, no toilet paper???
Have you ever wanted to own a mansion designed as a showcase for your classic car collection? Well, have I got a house for you!!!
Parking for 25 cars. $1.75M. 30 acres! Pennsylvania is on #SaturdayNightZillow zillow.com/homedetails/10…
Both my wife and my sister-in-law separately sent me this listing so you know it's worth a click through. #SaturdayNightZillow
Up next, AFFORDABLE MAINE ISLAND COTTAGE. You'd own one 1/6th interest in a 39-acre private island. You get a high cottage with 1K sf, solar power and spectacular views.
52 of us could put in $11K each and have a week a year for life on this island.
NEW JERSEY represent on #SaturdayNightZIllow. OMG this crazy estate. Prepare your retinas. I'm not really sure *how* to describe this decor? $3.3M. and 7BR/have 7BA, nearly 7 acres. Pools, slides, party time! zillow.com/homedetails/23…
My eyes don't know how to process this door. Is this a normal thing in New Jersey??? Imagine bringing groceries in and having to avoid tripping down the marble. #SaturdayNightZillow
Sweet indoor pool on the left, party sauna (seats 8) on the right. Some insane parties were held here. #SaturdayNightZillow
They call this a "hibachi table." Who says you can't learn new things on Zillow? #SaturdayNightZillow
Not sure whether to love this TV setup or hate it. It seems a little distracting. #SaturdayNightZillow
Affordable CANADA housing on #SaturdayNightZillow. The southern tip of Nova Scotia has a cute 2BR cottage near beaches, lighthouse. $109K in Canadian dollars. A bargain? 52 of us should put $2K in each for a week for life! zillow.com/homedetails/15…
Possible bargain of the week, if you like bright colors. $225K gets you a big, bold house with central air.
5BR, 3BA, 3K+ sf on a big lot. Things are cheaper in Goldsboro, North Carolina on #SaturdayNightZillow! zillow.com/homedetails/41…
Listing calls this place "a license to print money" -- a 7-unit Victorian and an adjacent restaurant for $638K. Looks like it should be in the movies on the outside at least...
I've, uh, seen nicer pools. But it's Vermont. How often are you going to go swimming anyway? #SaturdayNightZillow
$286K gets you a ~6600 sf, 6BR real house on .75 acre in Illinois. Monthly payment $1417. Why do we live in expensive places again? The Internet exists. #SaturdayNightZillowzillow.com/homedetails/34…
This is a fun one. OWN YOUR OWN CAVE. Tourist attraction "Jacob's Cave" just north of Lake of the Ozarks. $3.42M, 223 acres. Did I mention, CAVE! Versailles, Missouri on #SaturdayNightZillowzillow.com/homedetails/23…
NEW CONSTRUCTION. Gold toilets. Rolls parked in front. Who did they build this for? Gaudy turned up to 11. New York on #SaturdayNightZillow. $7.888M, dubbed "Palace of Brookville" zillow.com/homedetails/2-…
Last house of the night really looks like an interior designer spent some time on it. May not be your style but I like it. La Cornue range, a lot of nice rooms and colors in a world of beige houses. Shelby, NC. zillow.com/homedetails/52…
Drone video of that Connecticut castle, which appears to be on an island. There are two separate bridges over the moat.
Two years ago, Congress considered banning 18-20 year-olds from buying AR-15s and other semi-automatic rifles after the Uvalde massacre, and some Republicans were briefly open to doing so but ultimately blocked including a ban in the bipartisan gun bill signed by Biden.
Then-Florida Governor Rick Scott signed a law raising the age to buy guns in his state to 21 after the Parkland massacre, but then opposed doing the same for the nation as a US Senator. He told reporters it was easier to do it at the state level.
McConnell actually enacted a law one day to raise the age to buy cigarettes to 21. But he didn't want to talk two years ago about a proposal to raise the age for buying rifles.
Soaring cost estimates for extending Trump tax cuts set up a crucial 2025 fight:
*CBO puts tab at $4.6 Trillion over next decade
*Fight comes with US debt far higher than 2017, interest costs ballooning & Social Security cliff looming...
w/@chrisjcondon bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
*Trump wants more tax cuts, along with massive new tariffs — aka a tax on imports — that would raise consumer prices but offset at least some of the cost.
*Biden wants to extend breaks <$400K a year paired with higher taxes on corporations and the wealthy.
If past is prologue, Congress will again play Santa Claus. With a few exceptions, Congress has repeatedly increased spending and cut taxes since 2001.

"What happens in jail stays in jail" lol. Jail-bar pillows are a nice touch. #FridayNightZillow
One of the scarier things I've seen on Zillow. Let's hope this is a prop and not an actual electric chair. #FridayNightZillow
Ozempic can be produced for less than $5 a month, a new study found, but Danish company Novo Nordisk charges Americans $968.52. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Bernie Sanders insisting the company charge Americans no more than it charges Canadians for the same drug.
Ozempic pricing page. Many people get discounts on this price, or have insurance companies (ie premiums) or taxpayers pay the bill. novopricing.com/ozempic.html
McConnell helped nix:
Roe
Campaign finance reform
Individual mandate
Medicare dental & vision
Dream Act
$35 insulin cap
Minimum wage hike
Flag burning amendment
Making Election Day a holiday
Public option
SCOTUS filibuster
Pro Act 1/6 Commission
Oil export ban
Cap&trade
Tax hikes
Vast majority of laws since 2007 have had either the acquiescence of McConnell or his outright support, with notable exceptions, like the Affordable Care Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, Obama stimulus, Biden Covid relief, Dodd-Frank, Lilly Ledbetter, USA Freedom Act, Paygo.
One way to look at McConnell is that he has often had the role of editor of Congress. Empowered by the filibuster and his conference, he had a key veto point in Washington; spending, taxing and legislating had to pass through his filter.
