I read the 13 paradoxes of Modern life by @david_perell
That got me thinking about the paradoxes we face as content creators
and one of the most famous paradoxes is
QUANTITY eventually paves the way for QUALITY
Here's a thread exploring it
⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
But what is a paradox?
I believe this picture explains it better
The paradox of 'Quantity gives Quality'
I've heard many modern creators and writers mention "quantity paves the way for quality"
But higher quantity effectively means lower quality
Trying to increase quality with the same bandwidth has an inverse effect on the quality
The idea here is to find the balance between Quality and Quantity
But the question is how?
For example
I could start writing 3 Twitter threads every day
But this would mean a hit on the quality of my threads (since I also work a full-time job)
I could cut back and write one a day (as I usually do)
But this would not get me the engagement and visibility as 3 threads would
But it would be a thread of higher quality
So, how do I decide here?
This paradox can be solved by asking yourself the following questions
1. What's your goal? 2. What's your timeline to achieve that goal? 3. What is your version of acceptable quality? 4. What is the market's standard of acceptable quality?
Once you answer these questions it should help you find the right balance between Quantity and Quality
It definitely helped me find the right balance as a creator
But here's my take on Online Content Creation
If you want to improve the quality of your content
Increase your quantity 🤠
The more I write, the more refined my writing becomes
The more videos I create, the more I know what works and what doesn't
It's all about experimentation
Stick to a certain quantity
Create
Analyze the results and your energy levels
Modify the quantity
Rework and adapt
use this feedback loop
As a creator, it's your responsibility to always keep pushing yourself out of your comfort zone 👍
It is also your responsibility to make sure you don't burn yourself out in the process
