Weirdly enough, this is what my first boss told me (“are you happy? you’re just helping the Republicans”) when I told him I quit MassPIRG because the pay and conditions were exploitative. I was 16. He was in college, wore a hemp necklace, and loved Dave Matthews Band. I’m good. 
(I mean, like I was so cool! I didn’t know yet old Hank Rollins was covering *Suicide* on The Crow soundtrack. But fuck me if I’m canvassing for $2.25/hour.)
