Me ignoring Nazis until the exact right time.
What really pisses me off about this framing, which always seems to describe a desire to address the actual fight we face with magical thinking, and their perspective with clear minded adult realism, is that the moderate road they prescribe is the exact road that led us here.
We have been doing the moderate triangulation, the tepid try not to talk about the racism too much to avoid pissing off the “hard-working” Americans from the “heartland,” the practical third way, for my whole life. It led HERE.
Acting as if we haven’t done it your way all along in order to prescribe that we continue to do it your way for another cycle, amazing.
Actually addressing the cultural wars of the Republicans are absolutely not going to stop throwing out us won’t get us a senate seat in Arkansas?

Your way lost us to governorship in Virginia.

Let’s at least fight the fight before us.
There are people for whom these matters are literally life and death and they don’t get to take time out.

I for one refuse to abandon them just because a bunch of wonks have decided to listen to our consent manufacturing complex and deem them strategically inconvenient.

Both Sides, Part 1: Name The Two Sides

"On one side, there are the people who are directly affected by the issue, who speak to the harm caused by it from the perspective of their lived experience; and on the other side, there are those who are not."

One thing that the Rittenhouse trial throws into stark relief is a strongly held belief among a huge percentage of white conservatives that people protesting for Black lives should be killed, and that white conservatives should be allowed to personally do it.
They are protecting their right to self-defense as exclusive to white conservatives.

No white conservative with a gun can ever be deemed a threat worthy of self defense.

The immediate danger they clearly pose must always be deemed pre-facto AND post-facto self-defense.
They are protecting their right to pre-and-post justification of any threat they pose and any violent act they commit, their right to frame their violence and only their violence as self defense, their fear and only their fear of bodily threat as valid.

Your body. Their choice.

Reminder: Kyle Rittenhouse came to Kenosha with a deadly weapon as part of a white supremacist militia that was welcomed by police.
Conservatives ready to argue that mass shootings are free speech and murder trials are cancel culture.
Dylann Roof must be kicking himself for his timing. If he’d done the same thing today Republican congresspeople would be wearing t-shirts with his face.

Speaking of “hating to hear it,” Martin Luther King “hated to hear it” so much, he finally reached the regrettable conclusion that this attitude posed a greater obstacle than the KKK.
There’s a lot of things I hate about that tweet, but I think the thing that’s really standing out is the use of the word “elegiac.”
The way you get justice is by never ever talking about justice for decades and decades and then waiting for the exact right time and then BAM surprise instant justice, that’s how you do it, I’m smart.

A majority of Republicans definitely believe Covid started under Biden, and by 2022 it will be all of them.
They think Obama was president on 9/11. They think Biden made Covid, and by 2024, in the interest of seeming unbiased, Biden will be asked questions by major news media outlets about Covid starting on his watch.
“President Biden, some people believe that Covid began while Donald Trump was president. But many say it began during your presidency. Do you accept responsibility for your part in this controversy?”

The very concept of awareness is a threat to conservatives.

The concept of accommodating others constricts their speech and their thought.
Think of the layers of narcissism necessary to believe this list fosters exclusion rather than inclusion.

Think of the extent to which the writer needs others to make him the center.

Think of all the people who must be excluded in order for the writer to feel properly included.
This is a list of his trigger words; concepts that recognize and accommodate the existence of others.

Think of the safe space he demands. It's nothing less than all the space.

Microaggressions? THIS IS A LIST OF THINGS HE CONSIDERS MICROAGGRESSSIONS.
