This is very famous especially in rainy season. Alu is called Taro leaves in English, very famous in MH, GJ region. In Maharashtra we fry our wadi whr as in GJ they steam it.

Maharashtra loves poha, it must have travelled to Indore when Maratha empire was expanding. Its so significant that even a match making program in MH is called as Kande Pohe program 😀

Its another form of poha which is very famous in Konkan. In all poha recipes in MH, grated fresh coconut is a must in generous quantity 😀
5) Maharashtrian Upma

Upma is quite common even in other states, but in MH it comes with extra grated coconut & green chutney. Very common breakfast in MH households.
6) Sanja

Another form of upma but this made a bit spicy & most places they add garlic for extra flavour. In coastal belt they even add dried fish to it.
7) Thalipeeth

Its a kind of handmade roti, made from various flours mixed together. Its made lil spicy and served with fresh butter. One of the fav for all Maharashtrians.
8) Shegaon Kachori

It comes from Shegaon which is devasthan for Shri Gajanan Maharaj. Its very different from other Kachoris, especially the stuffing is quite unique. Must try once.

Its a kind of karanji or gujjiya, which is stuffed with unique recepie of mutter and spices. This is something which is loved across from kids to grandparents, usually its less spicy.
10) Pohe Samosa

Its a samosa made with stuffings of poha. Different places use different stuffings, with variance in spice level. Again a very different taste than usual samosas
11) Khobryachi Kachori

Made from grated coconut stuffing, comes from coastal region. Its very commonly made on upwas days. Very tasty 😀
12) Sabudana Khichdi

One of the most common snacks across Maharashtra. Again a upwas snack but ppl enjoy it anytime. Simply love it

If its raining then kanda bhajji & chai is must. Very easy to make and most grandmothers were always on their toes to make bhajjis.

This is pure 😍, again upwas recepie but its enjoyed on any given day. It goes well as combo with poha or batata wada.
20) Batata Patties

Similar to Aloo Patty but ingredients are typical as per Maharashtrian taste. Enjoyed with different chutneys.
21) Batatyacha Kees

Its a dish made from grated potato, can be also enjoyed on upwas and also on other days.
22) Pohachya Chivda

Typical member of Diwali faral, every Maharashtrian mom loves making a poha chivda and its very crispy and very tasty 😀
23) Nashikcha Chivda

This chivda may have other names, but at my home, we call it as Nashikcha chivda, very commonly used in various functions as side dish with tea.

Marathis must RT to support 😀

1) Shrikhand Puri

Shrikhand is a sweet made from strained yoghurt, saffron or dry fruits or fresh foods Image
2) Bharli Vangi

Also known as Bharwa Baingan in the north. Each region of MH has its own style of making this recepie. Very yummy with nice spicy gravy. Image
3) Vangyacha Bharit

Most of know it as Baingan ka Bharta, but you can already see our Bharta looks completely different. Once the eggplant is roasted, its not cooked further, not much spices, only onions, green chilli & coriander. Best served with chapati or Bhakri Image
