If you call me now I answer like I’m on deadline in 1962
I’m on a long gab with @thehighsign and I am twirling the cord around my fingers…in heaven
Now I just need this one…please
me answering the phone now
based on my dms i am helping create a very chaotic and robust network of rigged-up landlines lol
but basically, because ppl are asking: you buy a cell2jack converter (make sure you get higher than version 4 if you want to use it with a rotary phone) and you get an old phone. then you plug the converter into the phone (you need a phone cord) and charge it via usb...
then you turn on your cell and look for bluetooth matches and pair it with the converter. voila! one other thing: some vintage phones (like mine) are set to high position, you need to set them to low for them to ring (a guide below). i opened my phone up and did this. fin!
it more or less makes the phone into a bluetooth headset etc

it's world postcard day -- so a little #Penpalooza pop-up. i'll open my DMs for the next 30. if you send an address i'll have someone send you a postcard and give you someone to send one to.
the last time we did this about 400 people sent postcards! i am a postcard booster and this makes me so glad to see
i know its later on a friday so i will leave them open for a bit longer...
now that the french dispatch is (semi)out in the world and tilda's (semi)portrayal of rosamund bernier is out there i cannot recommend enough reading bernier's memoir amazon.com/Some-My-Lives-…
it's such a weird piece of writing! sort of like an art diary meets who-i-banged meets european travel guide meets college lecture and also fashion magazine???? it's very good for fall because it's all about crisp seduction and seasonal affairs
also what you will see in the film is tilda giving a museum lecture like bernier did for decades (rosamund was never really a features writer, so that part of tilda's character is a composite of other women). her met lectures are so worth watching: nytimes.com/video/arts/119…
