“We can’t understand why conservative media would be misleading, we’ve been in a coma for 30 years”
Mainstream reporting on conservatism is so bad largely because they refuse to believe the right is repeatedly what it says it is. And in conservatives’ defense: They’re not hiding it!
Trump was like “build a wall to stop Mexican rapists and ban Muslims” and the press response was “Republicans are feeling economic anxiety.” It’s right in front of you.

Hilarious also to see @sullydish lecturing us about tribalism when he infamously was all in for the Bush tribe and said the left was mounting a “fifth column” because they didn’t support Bush’s war policies
One thing I’ve learned in 20+ years in commenting on politics and media: Never ever listen to Andrew Sullivan. He’s got that thing that works so well in America: A British accent saying the dumbest shit that makes Americans take him seriously.
This is some dumb shit from @hamiltonnolan amplified by Stelter as if I just magically say “labor solidarity” it’s gonna stop cops from pulling over me or my family because we “look suspicious.”
“What if we just started talking about these other things?”
Cops: Ah so I guess it’s cool again to start randomly frisking young black men with the assumption that they probably did *something*?
With the exception of some black right wingers acting the fool (as always) you notice the people insisting we just stop talking about race have a certain uniformity of hue?
The first car I owned was a 91 Oldsmobile Calais that looked like this. I bought it from my friends grandpa. I have no desire to go back to this kind of ugly ass styling.
I’m not a car guy but in 2021 cars should look like future cars. Not that ugliness. They should be like cars from Back to the Future 2 as far as I’m concerned
One of the biggest liberal self-delusions is that we don’t regularly get as hot u see the collar about things as conservatives and that the liberal coalition is too diverse to get that mass sentiment going on a regular basis. So wrong.
We don’t get activated about the same issues and definitely not with the same framing, but we’re as much little rage and emotion monsters as the people watching Tucker every night
Frankly I think unlocking that emotion and continually stoking it is arguably one of the secret weapons that could lead to ideological domination
Dad used to answer my calls with “hello Mr Willis” or “sir Oliver” and it’s probably the closest thing he did to a classic “dad joke.”
Sometimes I have to register for things with my real first name and it’s so strange to be called “Lloyd.” And now it’s extra strange and sad. He’s Lloyd, I’m Oliver as far as I’m always concerned.
I always feel like the best illustration of the difference between my parents is I used to check the time for phone calls with Dad and if we did 5 mins it was a long call. OTOH Mom and I used to have to hang up because she got a warning the battery was about to die. LOL
So this is kind of funny. On Getty Images a photographer went to a concert and labeled some photos of a guitarist as my dad. As you can very clearly see below, it’s not my dad. A couple articles used the Getty picture of him over the years. The dude looks nothing like him! 😝
Also dad would never ever dress like that guy! Dad’s signature look was not buttoning his shirt all the way up. That’s as wild as he ever got.
And it wasn’t for show it’s just how he dressed. This is him in his home studio the last time I visited him.
