More and more I see videos in which far-right lunatics are shouting or preaching and though I can’t even understand what they’re angry about the one thing that’s clear is that they’re trying to push the country toward civil war. The Tim Pool video going around is from this genre.
What people must understand is that this anger is all manufactured. It’s just the planned continuation of an artificial metanarrative the right has developed to try to keep hold of its base.

So when you see people on the right calling the left “Nazis” and claiming that their freedoms have been abridged and insisting that somehow Joe Biden is both senile and the second coming of Hitler, understand that it’s both nonsense and a drumbeat intended to foment new violence.
Keep in mind that the far right has been saying "they're coming for your guns!" for 25 years now—but no one ever comes for their guns. They keep saying "your kids will be indoctrinated!", but no video emerges of far-right moms whose poor kids are now brainwashed vegan Communists.
No one should have been surprised by January 6. Far-right leaders have been fomenting fear, anger, hatred, paranoia, division, aggression, and confusion for decades now. They believe that civil war *sells*—it gets them *money and votes*—and they don't care if it destroys America.
Far-right leaders told their fans the pandemic wasn't real *so that* if government tried to save lives it'd look like oppression. And they told their fans that Project Veritas was journalism *so that* if it ever faced accountability for violating laws it'd look like oppression.
Trumpism is a "total institution" that's intended to imprison the mind. So many lies are heaped upon one another that the cultists get to the point where they *can't* disassemble any part of the edifice because doing so would cause their psyche and worldview to collapse entirely.
Democrats often do stupid things. I don't agree with every part of the left-wing agenda—and I'm a progressive. There are absolutely problematic excesses on the left. But the push toward *mass* violence; the *systemic* disinformation; the deliberate cult formation is on the right.
