The first and the foremost thing which you should do are to select a Genre. Which genre books do you like to read? Whether you like motivational, sci-fi,adventure, fiction, non-fiction, romance, or whatever it is. Afterward, search for the books on that particular Genre
2. Author
It’s possible that you like some particular author’s writing style and want to read more books like that. Then go for it and check the books published under that author’s name. Take out a book based on your interest and genre.
3. Recommendations
This is quite an important factor. Recommendation by someone important and qualified person makes the book important for us. So if you have someone good at reading, then ask him to suggest to you some books.
4. Read the First chapter
In case you have some recommendations and struggling to choose one. Then you go through the first chapter of each book and select the one you like the most.
5. Online sources
In this era of the internet, we can find everything on the internet. There are a lot of got websites, which you can refer to get a good book for yourself.
This is a good way to gain new friends and experience new books. It also gives you a push to finish reading a book. Book club may help you to find someone like you, who has the same interest in reading. In book club you meet different-minded people.
7. Social Media
Nowadays, everyone is on social media. So why not use social media to find out the good books of your taste. You can tweet on twitter asking about books of your genre. You’ll get some good recommendations.

8. Skim through the shelves in the section you are interested
Decide your genre and go to that section in the shelf. If you see anything attractive, go through the summary of that book. Whichever you find interesting put that aside for reading.

1. You’ll need to realize that a good reading culture is about being disciplined. You can’t build it over night. Because it’s a discipline, it’ll be hard and there are many temptations. But build it until it’s second nature.
2. Understand the book you‘re reading. Knowing what you’re about to read and why it was written affects your attitude towards the book and will determine how you respond to it. So read the preface or any preceding notes. A good appreciation for the book will go a long way.
Have a designated reading space in the house for keeping all reading materials-- it could be a bookshelf in a corner or a table in the kid's room. The idea is to make books and other reading materials accessible for children at home.
Just like eating healthy food and exercising daily are essential for staying fit, reading regularly is important for keeping the mind sharp. And so, parents should make reading daily a part of their and their child's routine.
