Why “The Sex Lives of African Women” Belongs On Every Man’s Bookshelf I’m reading The Sex Lives of African Women, a crucial collection of intimate stories. The author compiles tales from women across the globe that need a platform. And although this work thrives via the specificity of its unnamed accounts, it rings universal.

Fascinating i’m reading a book and just today i did notice about a woman called Lilith, Adam’s first wife whom no one wants to talk about

Adam’s first wife wasn’t Eve.

Lilith, who claims to be equal to Adam, has only been mentioned once in the bible— but not by her name. Lilith is believed to be the first wife of Adam. According to Genesis 1, Lilith was created from the same soil as Adam, and this meant for her that they both were equal.

I thought I'll put down a few ways authors can reach out to @NuriaStore. We always do our homework and research on new releases. However sometimes we can miss a new book, that has been released or published.

Don’t read the same books everyone else is reading.

Seeing alot of people, read the same books.. let's say the likes of 48 Laws of Power, Sex Lives of African Women, Atomic Habits

I’m highly selective of the books I read. Reading is an investment. It’s time spent in a conscious effort to consume new ideas and perspectives that may (or may not) change one’s life.

The Five Books that Changed my Perception

I would always argue that every book, however bad (as some may describe it) always contributes to you in some way or the other, below are 5 books that personally affected me. Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari

This book taught me the importance of asking questions, especially fundamental ones for which we falsely presume we already know the answers, and instilled in me the joy of searching for the answers with an open mind.

Let’s look into what the high achievers say about the power of reading a book. Young people today don’t read books. I don’t think any of them are widely read in Russian literature. Unless you have a rich reserve within yourself you can’t create anything. That’s why I often say creating comes from memory. Memory is the source of your creation...”

Consequences.

As we enter adulthood, the liabilities of our wrong decisions are gradually transferred from other people (parents, family, teachers) to ourselves.

We deal with the consequences of our actions. No one else carries the weight, but we alone.

That’s what adulting is When we were kids, if we screwed up our finances and spent too much, our parents would be there to back us up. If we failed, our teachers would help us find a way to pass the exam. Parents would scold us, but they’d also help us find a solution - enrol us in tuition, for example.

HOW DID I BECOME A READER

here’s a thread on how to develop a good reading culture.

Feel free to add some that can be adapted. 1. You’ll need to realize that a good reading culture is about being disciplined. You can’t build it over night. Because it’s a discipline, it’ll be hard and there are many temptations. But build it until it’s second nature.

1/ Create a reading space

Have a designated reading space in the house for keeping all reading materials-- it could be a bookshelf in a corner or a table in the kid's room. The idea is to make books and other reading materials accessible for children at home.
