Vice President @KamalaHarris is an integral part of the Biden Harris Administration and our Nation. She leads with grace, passion, and integrity. And while making History as the first Black woman, first woman , and first Woman of Color to serve as Vice President. (A thread)
VP @KamalaHarris also leads while being scrutinized and attacked in ways that no other person that have come before her has been scrutinized. We know what this is... and I promise you - it will not go unanswered.
In 2020 a wide group of Black women from came together - we witnessed what happens all too often: sexism, racism, and frivolous attacks - aimed at Black women and their leadership. We penned an open letter actionnetwork.org/petitions/open…)
Sadly this letter still is relevant today.
Let me be clear: The attack articles, the gossip, the petty questions about how our VP says "thee or the" , etc are meant to do 3 things: 1. Distract, 2. Dismantle, 3. Destroy. Legacy and Leadership is being undermined, if you cant see that..you are simply not paying attention.
So today we have a choice... will we sit back and allow these sexist, racist narratives to be weaved in our collective history or will we all be bold enough to speak up and denounce them? When our children look back on this moment what will our actions say about us? #KamalaHarris
At a moment when voting rights are attacked, reproductive rights are attacked, and millions still feel the impact of #COVID - it's time to focus on the issues. I'm proud to have a leader in #KamalaHarris that is bold, dynamic, and fierce. She stands for us and I stand with Her.
To sum this up #KamalaHarris is a bold leader. Sadly, she has been subjected to attacks largely reserved for leaders, especially #BlackWomen who dare to step outside of the boxes we are expected to operate within. Despite it all she keeps fighting for us: Now that is a leader.
