My memories of OG Xbox are all over the place. First it was just a really great console for Halo and stuff (and it had the best console bootup of all time). Then later in life, the soft-modding world turned it into a REALLY cool media PC, Stepmania machine IIRC, and more.
Well ok I'm thinking about it and maybe not THE BEST the best console bootup of all time, but it's waaaay up there. It's just. PS1 and GameCube are also up there. 3 way tie I guess.
Yeah this is weird. I'm guessing something waaay up the line got busted. I know we're in a rough weather pattern right now that's meant to bring rain, so even if it's mild here, presumably further up has more issues. But then why is the outage so spotty? You'd think that's local.
Good day to have a wood stove and a generator, I guess.
Really glad I got that kettle that looks like a chicken. This chicken kettle really does the business, and, most importantly- looks like a chicken.
Finally went spreadsheet spelunking, realized I had better data, and actually determined our budget!
SkateBIRD cost $181k to make. That includes my own paltry survival-salary, that isn't just cash expenses.
So. NEAT.
Did I have $181k in the studio account at the start of this? No. Heh. A lot of that was "free" money found along the way (Kickstarter, platform advances, etc).
... and dammit this doesn't include Patreon income. BAH. ANYWAYS. Something like that.
Anyways! Point is, profitable. I'm not sitting on some huge money pile right now, but we also made the game without that all being an advance that we had to pay back to the publisher/etc. It was all presales (Kickstarter), "free" platform advances, or kicking in my own savings.
Trying to figure out how punching guy didn't break his hand. That's more or less how I broke mine. His form is terrible and he's rolling his wrist, likely because of the angle / position of the hood.
Though I would like to point out that I haven't broken any bones during THIS game's dev, at least.
