Kick off QT in the Upper House with Davis asking the AG why they're fighting to block the release of briefings that OVIC has ruled should be released in public interest.
AG "govt is entitled to afford itself rights that others have on information but also it wasn't my decision".
Bless Symes, she might be a party loyalist like the rest but you can always tell when she doesn't actually agree with certain things.
Small Business Minister uses the words "people missing out on the rapid economic recovery that's occurring at the moment".
..what rapid recovery? Have you seen the CBD?
Maxwell MP brings up very serious impacts on children at risk in care that have happened from lockdowns and what the govt is doing to help fix this asap. #qt

Most of this comes from micro-fringe groups in Telegram, this one seems to be an MFR offshoot (explains a bit) which is where the protest organisers come from since the govt started having vicpol arrest any publicly named regular citizen daring to plan a protest in 2020.
So it started getting pushed to the fringe/Tele. Since then behind the scenes theres a revolving door of big egos vs well-intentioned ppl who get fed up with the lack of coherence to result in protests we see that allow extreme fringe views to talk due to lack of clear leadership
AG Symes kicks with "the bill has been available for 20 days" (like this is something to be proud of & not a violation of process) & questions why the Opp want an extra few days for debate. Says she 'wants to get on with debating it'. Mm not really how democracy is meant to work.
Oh dear. The govt is trying to invoke an 'urgent bill' clause.
It's only been used 9 times in history in the Upper House since 1996. This would assist them to gag debate and ram the bill through.
Very spicy LA QT.
Guy asks on who's advice was the original pandemic laws drafted given it included human rights violations.
Dan accuses him of not having read the bill.
One of the weakest rebuttals seen from him given headlines today all stating this exact clause was changed.
Holy shit. Dan just accused valid points relating to legal community concerns as "Tim's drinking buddies". Mate some of them are the best in the country & FAR from Lib aligned.
Dan "I won't be taking lectures on the legal community from someone who can't find a lawyer to be AG".
Shady sh*t the govt has done relating to the emergency powers and this pandemic bill that aren't even in the bill itself, a 🧵
Voted to gag debate in the lower house. They didn't need to do this, it was always going to pass, but would have allowed more members of Parliament (who collectively represent millions of citizens) to have their say on something they'd only been given 2 days to look at.
Claimed they're pro-transparency and that Pandemic Orders can be reviewed by a committee (SARC), then directly refused to allow SARC reasonable time to actually assess the bill itself. So.. SARC only counts once it passes?
60 QC'S ARE NAIVE. NAIVE.
There aren't words for this level of mindblowing arrogance.
Then just say industry or vax status. Stand by what you're willing to enable in society. Define it better. Don't use the entire list of protected rights legislation as a checklist of options available, that was the QCs entire point, which you've obviously missed by a bloody mile.
