The National Police Service assures the public of their security and safety following terror-related incidences in our neighbouring country earlier today. Our sympathies to victims and families who were affected by such an atrocious act.
We have activated our security
2/3 installations across the country with heightened security within our towns and borders. While we remain on high alert to safeguard residents and their properties, we encourage the public to be watchful of any suspicious persons and activities within their neighbourhoods and
3/3 report them to a nearest police station or on our toll free numbers 999/112 and 0800722203.
The National Police Service (NPS) has received a new batch of 101 police vehicles under the Government of Kenya lease program for the NPS from CMC Motors Group Limited.
The utility vehicles, mostly pickups, shall come in handy to enhance our operational effectiveness and
efficiency in service delivery to the public. The lease program comes with a package of mechanical service and fuel provision.
Present to receive the vehicles on behalf of the Inspector General of Police was Mr. Julius Sunkuli, Director Logistics at the DCI headquarters
flanked by Mr. Bruno Shioso, the Police Spokesperson. Officials from CMC motors Group Limited, ABSA Bank (the financiers), AL&R amongst other partners graced the occasion.
In his remarks, Mr. Sunkuli lauded the partnership as one that has played a major role in facilitating
Three (3) dangerous terror convicts serving jail terms for various terror related crimes escaped from Kamiti Maximum Prison on 15th November, 2021. The escapees were serving time ranging from 41 years to 15 years. Concerted efforts by a
multi-agency security team is ongoing to trace and recapture the convicts.
National Police Service is appealing to the general public to remain vigilant and be on a lookout for the three (3) escapees who remain very dangerous and desperate. Any information that could lead to
their recapture should be shared with police at the nearest police station, through police Toll free numbers and/or any local government administrator (NGAO) in strict confidence.
This is a very unfortunate attack on the @IG_NPS. As director in charge of Corporate Communication Affairs and Human Rights, I have been addressing a number of issues as alleged on extra judicial killings by Police on his behalf.
The @IG_NPS [IG] is the chief spokesperson for the @NPSOfficial_KE and I simply undertake that responsibility on his behalf.
Last week, on Friday 2/6/2020, the @IG_NPS invited human rights groups in his office to address their grievances.
This morning, at 0000hrs,@IG_NPS opened a new chapter in the history of Policing in the country by inaugurating a Digital Occurrence Book (OB), at Kasarani Police Station.
The technology among other benefits ensures that all entries made are a permanent record that cannot be edited, thus guaranteeing transparency and accountability in Police operations at the station level.
The reports entered will be subject to monitoring by Ward, County and Regional Commanders as well as the Inspector General and other top Commanders.
This is in line with the government’s policy of digitizing services that are critical to service delivery to Kenyans.........
